Premier To Start at Gracedale Before October

Northampton County Director of Human Services yesterday stated that the ink is finally dry on a contract with Premier Healthcare Resources as Gracedale's management firm.

Premier will cost Northampton County as much as $1.9 million over the next five years. It includes an annual cost of one full-time administrator with 40% for fringe benefits ($182,000 in the first year), along with a bonus of $30,000 per year if the manager is successful in achieving certain benchmarks. Premier also offered to accept penalties if it fails to deliver.

Although Marcus declines to state premier's exact starting date, it will be before the end of the month.

It is about time. Stoffa has dragged his feet long enough.

Sad thing is if Stoffa had not fired the firm working at Gracedale when he took office this disaster could have been averted. Stoffa had to pay off a campaign promise and fired the firm that was making Gracedale more effcient.

When Stoffa took office Gracedale was making money. The failure of Gracedale is all Stoffa's.

Stoffa did not fire the firm doing consulting work at Gracedale. That firm did achieve some savings, and then its work was done. Ross Marcus specifically addressed this in two different council meetings. What you say is untrue.

The company has a different story. They were not done with their work but Stoffa was done with them.

You don't know what you're talking about, and Marcus has spoken about it at length.

Only problem is Ross Marcus doesn't know jack crap about Human Services. The guy is an old Mayor Heydt hack. A Economic Dev gamer. A Republican payback hire by Stoffa. Whatever he knows about Human Services he learned from the back of placemat. Look at the mess the Department is in. Gracedale is broken and the other parts of human services are all over spending and over budget. You and the Press can hide the facts from the public but the people who are moving the money around know the truth.

get rid of marcus and maybe the county would run smoother!!! they never gave the new administrator a chance.. they didn't want to hear any suggestions he had.. get rid of the adm at the courthouse level, let gracedale run themselves!!
