Is Simmons Break-In Attempt Politically Motivated?

The glass door has been boarded.
About a week ago, US Senator Pat Toomey's Zionsville neighborhood was vandalized with anti-GOP graffiti. Instead of hitting his home, two homes across the street from him. In what could be a coincidence, someone attempted a break-in at State Rep. Justin Simmons' Coopersburg office late last week.

Though this could be a druggie, Simmons seems to be suspicious that it is coming from political opponents.

From his Facebook page:
"I'm extremely saddened to report that this campaign season continues to deteriorate as one of the worst. Last night, someone tried to break into my Coopersburg legislative office. This behavior is unacceptable and I have to say I have never seen anything like this (on the campaign side as well) until this election. The way to get your message across is to win at the ballot box, not engage in scare tactics. Obviously, the other side doesn't think they can win."
He has reason to be suspicious. Campaigns against him have all been ugly.

On her Facebook page, challenger Joanne Jackson condemned the attempted break-in. "I am so upset at the vandalism perpetrated towards the incumbent," she said.

The partisan politics in this country on both the left and right needs to go. Both sides are behaving like idiot children with the tit for tat bullshit and as leaders of the free world, its fucking embarrassing. At the end of the day we're all Americans and have 90% or more in common with each other, yet the knives come out when someone says "Universal Healthcare".

Seriously, if you are so worked up and angry that you literally hate (and reading message boards all over "hate" is putting it politely) Democrats/Liberals or Republicans/Conservatives so much that you need to spew rhetoric and disparaging comments on a message board, you really need to take a step back and review the priorities in your life and just take a break from reading the news for awhile.

The US Government is a dysfunctional mess right now because of the polarization of the two parties and the inability for a growing # of people to understand multiple points of view and develop compromise solutions.

I agree with you Bernie that the campaign against Simmons has been ugly. And it's Jackson's whacko supporters that have been saying it is an inside job.

Bernie,
Truely, it is probably one of the reporters at the gag paying some poor slug for this Simmons guy too have some other media exposure other than the gaget goop!
REpublican redd
The circus carnival experience is like a parade let loose on the USA and it is the most henious acts of terrorism against the entire populus? Thanx for a much needed enlightening weekend!

When you run a campaign that is in complete bedlam. The only, tactics that you and your small group of supporters have is to lie, harass, bully and attempt voter intimidation. This person is always playing the victim, when in fact it's her and her crazy supporters that are doing this bad behavior. It's a sign of desperation!

There's rumblings around the Coopersburg Police that a white GMC SUV was spotted driving into the parking lot of the shopping center at 1 am Friday morning by the dentist's own security camera two doors down.

Joanne Jackson drives that exact vehicle. The question is, if she did this, why would she be so stupid and what would she have to gain?

I mean she's already going to lose big, but now she may go to jail.

Anonymous said...

Jackson has displayed emotional outbursts and then she quickly, back pedals. Then in her manic state, she accuses others of malice. When in actuality it's Joanne that has done the evil deed. I just can't believe that this women has the nerve to run for a public office, when she behaves this badly. Case in point, when she knocked on peoples doors and told them to remove political signs that were on their own private property. She needs to go home and take care of herself. But, after the above comment, it looks like it will be jail.

I have seen JJ's temper tantrums and illogical thinking. She is impulsive and then lies about it. It's always the other person and she is always the victim. When in fact it's her!!!!!

Anonymous said...

To prove that Jackson has difficulty with relationships. Just look at her record as a school board member or her four marriages. She is always sabotaging her relationships with family, friends or co-workers. She doesn't have an internal filter of appropriate behavior. She thinks that she is entitled to have everything her way.

Oh boy! The dental office workers are going to be harassed or threatened by this crazy lady. She definitely doesn't like being held accountable for her outlandish conduct. Then she will flip back to being sweet Joanne and act like it was them & not her, that acted this way. She is very deceptive.

Anonymous said...

I hope that JJ enjoys her new jewelry accessory.......handcuffs.

All these comments appear to be from the same person.

Anonymous said...

At 8:30 the cameras will prove that the inside job of attempting to break-in was done by none other Jackson herself.

Anonymous said...

Senator Toomey had vandalism and veiled threats done in his neighbor and now, the Simmons office. It is highly suspect that someone is trying to intimidate people. It's not going to work. I hope that they catch the individual or individuals that were involved.

Bernie O'Hare said...

There was also some recent anti-GOP vandalism at a Methodist church in Monroe County, so I am suspicious. But what makes this case different is the absence of any graffiti, which I believe existed at the church and in the Toomey neighborhood. It could be a druggie.

Bernie O'Hare said...

"All these comments appear to be from the same person"

Agreed. These anonymous personal attacks do not help Justin. They make him look petty. you are hurting him more than you help him with these rants. Justin himself seems to be very level headed about this incident. Try following his example, and quit hurting him.

Anonymous said...

So, there's druggie breaking into Coopersburg buildings. I didn't know that there's a druggie lurking around. That is a scary thought. I guess people should be careful. With that said, why Justin's office and not, a private home? There are a lot of old homes that still have the original wooden doors. It would be so easy to kick in the doors and not, have to deal with a security system.

Anonymous said...

Joanne Jackson deplores this violence. She has said so.

I also believe that this was a desperate attempt to gain attention by Justin Simmons. After all, he went back on his pledge to serve only three terms. He has blocked and harassed his own constituents. He, or his supporters have made up as many as 12 fake Facebook profiles in order to harass Joanne Jackson and her supporters.

I am convinced that Justin or his supporters broke his office door to gain sympathy.

Anonymous said...

Justin doesn't need to do anything desperate to gain attention. The constituents want Justin to represent us and not, his opponent. I don't care if, anyone calls this a personal attack but, this woman has discredited herself by mistreating and bullying people in the district. People talk and it's common knowledge that she is mean and unstable. So, where is the proof that Justin or his supporters broke into his office? I for one and many other members of the community have witnessed over and over again, the underhandedness of Justin's opponent.

Anonymous said...

At 11:09 where is the proof? Prove it that Justin or his supporters broke into his own office. Instead of making false claims, allow the investigation and facts to unfold. Speculation isn't facts!

Anonymous said...

False claims, 11:51? That's laughable. I have a right to my opinion. I think Justin Simmons broke his own door to set up the Dems.

I look forward to the police's final report. It will be telling.

Anonymous said...

@12:46 What's the motive? Justin is well known and liked. He doesn't have to rely on being desperate to gain attention. He has represented his constituents well. His record and leveled headed actions speak volumes. He hasn't been running a campaign based on smoke and mirrors.

Anonymous said...

Justin Simmons missed 14 votes in a row this spring. Sounds like a person who doesn't want to represent me (or anyone else) in Harrisburg. FOURTEEN VOTES

Well liked? I think not.

Anonymous said...

It's the same attacks that always leveled at Simmons. It has gotten really old and it's from the same group of people. No one believes the same old, same old negative comments that are made towards, Simmons. SMH!

Unknown said...

He missed 14 votes in the spring? That's unheard of.....what was his excuse?

Anonymous said...

Let's go back to the basics here because horse face, Lori McFarland, Sue "butch" Arnold and all the other kooks need some help understanding things. Simmons got 62% of the vote in the last election. That means more than 6 in 10 people like him. That means he is liked. He will win by a similar margin this time.

We now have a diagnosis for the mental illness that these women have. It is called SDS. Simmons Derangement Syndrome.

Horse face, I know you're lonely. Never had a man. The Young medical spa does great work! Start with those buck teeth.

Anonymous said...

The fact that all these people with SDS even thought up that this was an inside jobs tells you...1.) They're not right in the head 2.) They probably actually did it.

We all know Sue "butch" Arnold has been caught stealing her neighbor's Simmons signs.

Anonymous said...

Some people need to get their facts straight and stop lying. It was Mike Schlossberg that has missed votes. He left Harrisburg to attend a Kaine rally. It was Schlossberg that missed 14 votes. Then there's Dan McNeill that has been MIA. McNeill hasn't been on the floor for two months. Are you listening! Can you read? Bernie wrote about Schlossberg. Get your facts straight! And by the way, both of these individuals are democrats.

Anonymous said...

What is unheard with 4:46, is honesty and credibility.

Anonymous said...

So, Justin, are you saying that VoteSpotter is incorrect when they say the you missed 14 consecutive votes this spring? 14 in a row? Where were you when the taxpayers were paying you?

Anonymous said...

No response from Justin Simmons. This behavior is why some have thought he broke into his own office.

Anonymous said...

hogwah @10:54! your ridiculous comment oesn't deserve a response. it's when one is GUILT RIDDEN that the subonscience speaks out. know where í'm going with this???

Anonymous said...

Is there no accountability on Justin's part? His absences from Harrisburg make it look like he doesn't want his job! If we fire Justin and hire Joanne Jackson in PA 131, we'll have a real public servant who SHOWS UP FOR WORK.

Anonymous said...

Ok, This is just total nonsense. Justin has been doing his job. As far as vote spotter it's private company that you have to pay for the application. It has received terrible reviews. So, it's not actually a reliable source.

Anonymous said...

No one has said that Justin didn't miss 14 votes in a row this spring. Can Justin confirm or deny that he was actually working this spring?

Anonymous said...

It's clear that Sue "Butch" Arnold and Horseface can't get rid of their obsession with Simmons. Kinda creepy actually.

My question is, how does Horseface provide for herself? We all know her "eco business" is a joke and can't provide for her. My question is, who did she sue or is George Soros paying for her to be an agitator like Gloria McVeigh, who is now in Colorado by the way. Maybe she sucking off the government teet.

And Sue "Butch" Arnold wants to talk about showing up for work? Well. The teacher that makes $84,000 in taxpayer salary and sits by her in ground pool for three months of the year. Talk about hypocrisy. Please wear a one piece butch.

Anonymous said...

I am sure that everyone that criticizes Simmons, so much are all just perfect. That they never, ever call out sick from work and that they never, ever make a mistake. That these individuals are just so happy! That they have such a successful and fulfilling life. That they are so busy. Wait! It's really that they have such an unfulfilled and miserable existence. Why else would they lash out at anyone that is the antithesis of their ideology?

Anonymous said...

Still no substance from Simmons, only childish rants. Where was Simmons this spring? Did he really MISS FOURTEEN VOTES this spring? This, after he pledged to not run this year?

What is he hiding? Does he really want to work for his constituents, or does he just want his government salary and perks?

The voters deserve an answer, Justin.

Anonymous said...

Shocking that this comment was allowed by Bernie since it is nothing but a personal attack....oh wait, it is for Justin Simmons so a different set of rules apply. What a joke.

Anonymous said...

You are a hypocrite and an embarrassment for having a published set of "rules" for your blog, and adhering to them for the most part, that is unless they are pro Simmons or anti Mako. Your bias is astonishing.

Anonymous said...

Simmons is fortunate that his opponent hasn't sued him for slander based on his facebook post. If she had a brain she'd take Bernie for a ride with him for re-posting it....tacitly endorsing it...aside from the moronic druggie comment. Criminals looking for drugs always hit political offices, OK. That comment is so ridiculous there is nothing even to say in response. Lumping Simmons, or anyone in this district race, with Toomey is an even bigger joke. Could only be Simmons himself, or his crack staff of Raines, Baran, Sterner that would prop him up to that level. He should focus on his paper shredding events and stop comparing himself to Toomey.

Anonymous said...

Someone please send the writer of the above comment a copy of the constitution. They need to read it! Particularly the part about freedom of speech, you know the first amendment.

Anonymous said...

Someone send @8:45 a syllabus for Law 101 since they are too tied up in the " constitutionalist" mindset to know the difference between free speach and defamation of character. Is it stated as an opinion of Simmons or as a fact? "Never seen anything like it until this election. Obviously the other side doesn't think they can win". Slam dunk, defamation of character. No opinion, all fact, pointed directly at his opponent. The Simmons gang better tread lightly here before someone decides to take on a little pro bono work and piss on his picnic tomorrow.

@ 9:12 LMAOOOOOOOOO

@9:20 Agree!

Bernie O'Hare said...

I assume these comments refer to a nonsensical mailer in which Simmons is falsely accused of posting anonymous comments about Joanne Jackson and posting them to a story I wrote about her invitation that I "like" a disgusting parody F/B page about Simmons. Courts are loathe to apply defamation laws to an election contest. But her false statements about Simmons would otherwise be actionable. The anonymous statements about her on my blog are not actionable bc of this judicial reluctance. In addition, Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act gives me immunity from third party comments.

Anonymous said...

Simmons posted the quote above on his own facebook page pointing the finger squarely at his opponent, then you quoted it above as from said page. Neither anonymous or 3rd party unfortunately.

Bernie O'Hare said...

I have no idea what you are talking about. You refer to the "quote above." Which quote? And where did I requote it? I did post an article expressing disdain for Jackson's attempt to get me to "like" a parody page on F/B full of drivel. I stand by everything I wrote.

Anonymous said...

I'm sure you do stand by everything you wrote. You also appear very much at ease standing by and allowing anonymous personal attacks as long as they are defending Simmons or attacking his opponent. Why is that if your own policy says you will not allow those posts? You say below you will delete personal attacks, or if someone personally attacks someone else you expect the attacker to identify themself. Why is this chain different because the attacks are from the Simmons side?

Anonymous said...

9:12 that sounds like a threat. Maybe the Simmons campaign should take that to the police. If you look at Joanne Jackson the wrong way, she files a police report. She has the mindset of a 4th grader.

Anonymous said...

I find it interesting that the 5 Simmons haters on here all talk about private sector job experience yet were the BIGGEST supporters of Michael Beyer. LOL!!!

Talk about hypocrites. They're nothing more than liberal hacks afraid of Justin because he's effective and moving on up......

Bernie O'Hare said...

3:34, One of my comment policies is that comments that question my comments policy will be deleted. So your next comment will disappear. I do allow some anonymous personal attacks at elected officials and candidates, especially at election time. Over the course of this campaign, I have deleted several vulgar comments directed at Simmons or Jackson. I have also been forced to close down comments on every blog about Simmons, mainly bc of the childish comments that are anti-Jackson or anti-Simmons. I also standby every word I wrote, and attach my name to it. If you want to spin your wheels attacking me, be my guest. I am not running for office.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, he's really moving on up. Is that a joke? A real doer. Takes 2 years to get his epi-pen bill that every lawmaker on both sides supports off the ground. He's killing it.

Anonymous said...

I can't believe the Simmons campaign is still OK with you acting like you are affiliated with then Donna. The only threat here is the threat of you to the gene pool.

Anonymous said...

Unfortunately in this world there are the low information voters such as in post 8:09 who distort information to try and achieve their own biased objective. The Epi-Pen legislation passed the General Assembly unanimously a very long time ago. It's the Senate that held up the vote, not the House. So if you want to place blame, then place it where it belongs. It's sickening to watch the constant bashing that a few individuals constantly post on this website. Maybe you need a good look in the mirror about what drives so much hate inside of you. In the meantime, put some pressure on the Senate because this is a very important bill.

Anonymous said...

8:09 - sounds like someone still butt hurt from the primary ass kicking. 80-20. Enough said. Go craw back under your rock and quit embarrassing yourself.

Anonymous said...

@8:18 I guess that you have a problem with a Jewish person.

@3:30...explain?

@9:06 sounds like boy wonder himself....must have pulled himself away from Facebook for a minute

Anonymous said...

@ 11/7 3:50 went back through every comment in this post and don't see a single mention of private sector job experience, let alone a criticism of Simmons on that. Sounds like a sore subject, how come?

Bernie O'Hare said...

This story originally posted on 10/31. Here you are, eleven days later and after the election, still braying away. You are obviously mentally ill. Get some help.
