Still No Campaign Finance Report From GOP Exec Candidate Steve Lynch

Steve Lynch, the GOP Executive candidate in Northampton County, was required by law to file his pre-primary campaign finance report on Friday. Instead of doing that, he was frolicking in Ocean City Maryland. He also failed to file a report (he had promised quarterly reports) on Monday. Instead he cut a video imploring Democrats to vote for him, even though he regularly portrays Democrats as the party of Satan.

His campaign treasurer, Bruce Gilbert, is a former Council member  who presumably knows this is required.

So much for transparency and accountability.

Is it uncommon to file late?

Yes, especially for offices like Executive.

Mr. Lynch is always attacking Gov. Wolf and stating that he is going after him to have him jailed.

He has no legal authority to do that, but Wolf has the authority to investigate whether Lynch and his buddy Benji from Lit Graphics is paying sales tax on all the "merch" they are selling for this campaign.

Would be interesting to investigate that aspect of this "merch" scam!

I have now watched McClure's videos on Lynch.

McClure YouTube Channel

It is crazy that this guy just put these videos out there and said these things. McClure does not even have to work to make this guy look bad. He does it to himself.

From all appearances, Lynch has no clue about what is involved with government leadership and the responsibilities that goes with it. Worse, he doesn't seem to want to learn about it either. He is simply another Trump wannabe who's only plans are to make a lot of noise and pour sand into the gears of things and pretend that he is "shaking up the establishment".

Sadly, he'll still get a good share (35-40%) that will vote for him anyway because he has an "R" next to his name.

I’d say 45% at least.

I do not think Lynch has plans to win. This is all about getting Lisa Scheller elected next year. They are engaging Republicans and getting them riled up, then when they lose they will be even more determined to beat Susan Wild next year.

when will you do a article on the Council race the incumbents, the retiree and the 6 crazy Rs who are running that were hand picked by Lee Snover?

Is this Bruce Gilbert the same person who had a shady financial past disclosed while he was on Council?

If so, two things - Great choice there Lynch, and this is SOP for Gilbert.

If not, pls disregard this post.

Based on what I’ve heard from him to this point, this Republican believes that Mr. Lynch would be a disaster as County Executive. There are local issues, like Gracedale, where Mr. McClure is very vulnerable, but Mr. Lynch seems content to be channeling Donald Trump on issues that have very little relationship to county government. He comes across as clueless.

@11:47 - Nailed it!

Northampton County doesn't need a "disrupter" or more accurately, a simple minded, attention seeking poser.

It needs a competent individual with a clear plan, laid out in plain terms of how they will make government work for the residents of the county.

Nobody should give a two shits on what this guy (or anyone else who is running for a county position) on abortion, gun rights, free speech, personal wokeness, socialism, government surveillance, Russia, China, UFO's or the Kennedy Assassination. Just basic understanding of what can/can't be done by the county and ways to improve it.

I can almost smell the smoke generated by the gears in Steve Lynch’s overheated brain while he tries to put two thoughts together. He talks in circles in all his videos and instead of offering innovative solutions to anything, he often digresses and starts to regurgitate debunked conspiracy theories. And let’s not even talk about all the illegal anabolic steroids he’s taken as a bodybuilder, that’s a conversation for another day…

Lynch is off the chain. But the alternative is McClure. Easy decision. Lynch (or any warm body running against the single worst and deadliest executive in county history). This is where we are. I blame both PsOS. You'll blame one group of voters. SSDD.

In today’s Morning Call article, Tom Shortell states the maximum fine for not reporting his Campaign Finances is $250. He didn’t make it clear if it is a $250 max per day, or the most that he can be fined, in total, is $250. If the most he has to pay is $250, what would happen if he says “screw it,” l will pay the fine, but I’m not releasing my Campaign Finances. Then what??

Bernie O'Hare said...

Phil, If there are unpaid fines, a person is barred from assuming office. If he wins the vote and refuses to file, he will not be deemed elected until the Registrar certifies that all required reports have been filed. 25 P.S. Section 3252 (b).

@2:14 - Then stay home or write a name in as a protest vote come November. If you truly think someone who is "Off the chain" and that's putting it mildly, would improve the situation down there you're not being honest with yourself.

Swing a dead cat anywhere in the county and vote for the first thing it hits vs McClure. Lynch hasn't been responsible for any loss of life. He has that going for him.

@4:04. Spoken like the true anti vaxer idiot that you are.

Actually, I hate to think what the death toll at Gracedale and county-wide would be if Lynch were county exec. He'd refuse to supply masks or PPE to the nursing home, would reject the assistance of nurses from the PANG and would encourage them against vaccinations. His policies would kill people.

Yep, he's got you all a cackling! Love it!
