Executive: Incumbent Lamont McClure is the sole Democrat seeking his party's nomination, while Steve "the Patriot" Lynch is the only Republican hopeful.
On March 2, Lynch vowed, "We won't be outworked." He gathered about 730 signatures. McClure got 1,300. It looks like Lynch was outworked.
County Council: There are five open seats. Incumbents Democrats Ron Heckman, Lori Vargo-Heffner, Bill McGee and Tara Zrinski are seeking their party's blessing. Newcomers Patti Bruno and Emmanuel Jah-El have also filed petitions.
Republican hopefuls are John Goffredo, Scott Hough, Annamarie T Robertone, Nicole Romanishin and Kristin Lorah Soldridge.
This blog has covered NorCo government since 2006. Only McClure, McGee, Bruno and Goffredo could be bothered to send notices announcing their campaigns.

Lol. You weren't the same commenter back then. Trump made you cRaZy and you marginalized yourself in the last four years. You used to be somewhat of a fair broker. Now, you're only a couple of steps from the BlueAnons who are no different from the wacky QAnons. You don't think you picked a tribe. But you certainly picked a tribe. Trump made you do it to the point where you defend McClure and his handiwork at Gracedale! The results there belie your campaigning for him and make my point.
Bernie - No other Republican wanted to go for Executive? Cusick? Any number of Republican township supervisors in the county?!? Hell, even Ron Angle or a rebooted John Brown 2.0?!?
Unless Democrats stay home feeling fat and happy (which is always possible) Lynch is just unelectable in a general election... He's going to be painted as a MAGA/QAnon lunatic which only has limited appeal to a small group of voters. Northampton County voters rejected Trump last November, running it back a year later is just a monumentally dumb strategy for the GOP.

He actually IS a MAGA/QAnon lunatic. Look at his Facebook page. McClure could lose if Dems stay home. And guess what? They tend to stay home in municipal races. It is very important that people know exactly what Lynch is.
@643 - PLENTY of Republicans, both current and former dislike Trump. You like him - good for you, but at the same time a lot of people can hold conservative values and see that Trump is not out to improve this country, only to improve his own bottom line. He is destroying the party slowly but surely. "America First" does not resonate with a majority of this country and is doomed to fail.
