Solicitor's Office: Fed Ed Had No Say Over RTK

At Wednesday night's Allentown City Council meeting, Roger MacLean gave a pretty dramatic display of how Allentown responds to a Right-to-Know request. My impression was this is yet another indication of Mayor Edwin "Fed Ed" Pawlowski's lack of transparency.

On Thursday, I contracted the Solicitor's Office and learned that Fed Ed actually had nothing to do with how City lawyers responded. In addition, I was told that, in addition to the redacted material you see, the City furnished a great deal of information.

In fairness  to both the Solicitor's office and Fed Ed, I thought I should clarify what I wrote.

Thanks for the clarification.

Susan Ellis Wilde, the solicitor, is a former recipient of funds from the friends of Ed Pawlowski PAC in her county race. Therefore, I find it hard to believe that "Fed Ed" didn't have anything to with it. Knowing Roger MacLean, he would not forward anything without checking on the validity of it. Suffering under 7-years of "Fed Ed", he knows the devious one probably better than anybody.

Wilde has shown herself to be an excellent solicitor for the city.

Her name is Susan Ellis Wild. She has an excellent reputation among lawyers in Northampton and Lehigh County for fairness and legal acumen. I am extremely impressed with how she has handled herself during a very difficult time. Few lawyers could do what she has done. She represents neither Fed Ed nor Council. She represents the City, and it is lucky to have her. I disagree with some of her legal opinions, but that's probably bc I am wrong. Fed Ed has made lots of bad choices, but with Wild, he hit a home run.

The team of city attorneys did the bidding of the criminal City Manager.

Hmmm....
Let's see. A department run buy an attorney with Democratic Party up and down the food chain, and one who has taken political money from a disgraced and soon to be indicted mayor.
Perhaps the solicitor is clean as the driven snow but it has the faint order of something not quite right.
Interesting that as the penultimate act approaches every lawyer on the floor is lawyered up and walking on egg shells.
A simple statement of fact.

Your real objection appears to be that she is a Democrat. I have been critical of Fed Ed since 2007 and have never hesitated at calling out Dems who engage in unethical conduct. I am very impressed by Wild. I don't place much weight on comments about integrity made by people who themselves fail to say who they are.

Lehigh Valley Redacted
If censorship is good enough for your pal Fed Ed's solicitor, why shouldn't you do it as well?

Much black ink on that REsponse document, if it can be called that!
