New Blog Spotlights Nazareth Extremist

Benjy
A new blog, Community Research Opposing Hate, has been created to spotlight the antics of local far right extremist. One of them, Benjamin "Benjy" Jacques, is a Nazareth resident who brags he was "on the front line" during the January 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capital. It's unclear whether he went past the barriers, but he does complain on Facebook that he was tear gassed and subjected to flash bombs filled with rubber pellets.

He's participated in three far-right rallies in D.C.over the span of the last three months. Though he himself is a Latino, he poses with Proud Boys displaying the "white power ok"sign.

Maybe he's just an idiot.

What interests me even more than Benjy is  his connection to a fellow named Steve Lynch. He's from Northampton and was also at the January 6 insurrection.

Lynch and Benjy both refer to themselves as patriots. I'd disagree. In my view, those who threaten the Vice President or House Speaker are domestic terrorists. Those who attempted to interfere with the work of Congress, as Benjy admits, are insurrectionists.

Lynch has confirmed with me that he expects to be announce his candidacy for county office soon, possibly Executive. He has suggested we meet, and I will tell you about him after doing so.

McClure is obscessed with Mr. Lynch. I imagine since you and McClure communicate on a regular basis he informed you of Mr. Lynch.

Think I see a return to McCarthyism as I looked at the link in today's site. Slippery slope Bernie, slippery slope. Right now, a lot of good people who attended a march in Washington and caused no destruction have been branded. I fear the press right now.

Bernie, I followed the link to this new blog. Although the author provides extensive personal information and identity on these people he/she deems a menace, I see no identity for the author. I'm I missing something, or is the author anonymous?

Considering that you recently asked for more bloggers "who are willing to identify themselves", I find this new blog lacking out the gate. Michael M

So this poor excuse for an American wants to use the power of the vote to achieve what they couldn't do by force in Washington. Is there no end to their madness. What is so scary is these traitors to our country are also our neighbors, Our school teachers teaching our children, and leaders of the Republican party.

so benji and lynch are not patriots but the BLM are??

So who fact checks the fact checkers?

"Community Research Opposing Hate"? Sorry, but this is another Leftist hate-blog masquerading as being against the very thing that they are doing.

I don't need another blog that attacks legitimate assembly, smears individuals and gives away their personal information so that the internet mob can go after other people, their families and their employers.

We all deserve better in our political discourse, and you should be ashamed for promoting that blog. I know you wouldn't want anything to happen to someone because of your link to other blogs, right?

The insurrectionists do not use the word "patriot" like the rest of us. Rather, they use it as a code word to refer to other insurrectionists. That's why Trump has suggested he'll form a Patriot Party. The rest of us just hear that they're supposedly patriotic--which, of course, they are not. They are quite the opposite.

Right wing version of Weather Underground, except Weather Underground was romanticized. I don't think this gang will get the same romantic treatment as prior conscientious resisters. I'm always suspicious of the referees in these games, however. SPLC is a good example of once trusted referees having been corrupted.

MM, You are correct. The author of this blog does not identify himself, which detracts from its credibility. It is also obviously slanted. Finally, it doxes the hell out of these people, which I find unnecessary and intrusive. On the plus side, I think it's important for people (and the FBI) to know about these people. One of them lives just a few blocks from my underground lair. I contacted the one who is considering a run for NorCo office and will have lots of questions about the things he has said.

These folks calling themselves patriots prance around with weapons and brag about invading the capital. They are all quite vocal on Facebook. When their lies and conspiracy theories are fact checked they call it censorship. I consider it quite appropriate to cast a public spotlight ion them and their message, but without doxing them.

"so benji and lynch are not patriots but the BLM are??"

I do not consider someone a patriot simply because he calls himself one. A patriot is someone who sacrifices for and serves his country. The Proud Boys and bugalooos are not patriots. Nor is any demonstrator who crosses the line and engages in violence or insurrection on the left or right.

"Think I see a return to McCarthyism as I looked at the link in today's site. Slippery slope Bernie, slippery slope."

I understand and agree with this concern. I completely support the right to peaceably assemble and freedom of speech. I would defend against any attempt to stifle this basic right, which I consider more important than the second amendment. On the other hand, we need to expose and prosecute every single person who attempted to overthrow our government. Benjamin Jacques is certainly on the borderline here. He admits to being tear gassed and hit with flash bombs. This means he was either close to or past the barriers.

"So who fact checks the fact checkers?"

Facts are facts. They are what they are. You can easily inform yourself by googling both the wild claim and the subsequent fact check. Time for you to wake up and realize you've been misled by a chronic liar.

"Right wing version of Weather Underground, except Weather Underground was romanticized. "

As someone who lived in that era, they were far from romanticized.

I look forward to the interview!
As an avid hunter and firearms safety instructor, please keep the rifle locked up at home. They have no place at any kind of "rally" and prancing around with one only supports the "gun nut" stereotype. That type of firearm belongs at the range or better yet in the hands of a responsible gun owner. Most folks don't have enough experience to carry a firearm.
If you want to be a patriot, sign up and serve our country or volunteer in your community. Unfortunately, Little Legs Lynch and Benny would find playing dress up is more their speed.

Is Benjy the Ridge Street Stunner's new beau? They deserve each other and live ammunition ever after...well, after she is paroled

Bernie O'Hare said: "...I think it's important for people (and the FBI) to know about these people."

That is such a bogus argument.

If he was there and lawfully rallied with those of similar political beliefs, he is well within his rights and it should end there.

If you have evidence that he crossed the line and went into the Capitol, you can call the FBI and file a report for them to follow up on.

What that blog, and now you, are trying to do is make political beliefs that differ from yours a "criminal" offense that will cause harm to those individuals, their families, and their employers. That's reprehensible.

I don't agree with 80% of what you believe, but I don't think you should have to disclose the location of your "underground lair". And I certainly would stand up against anyone else who tried to put your information out like that.

You can't say you "completely support the right to peaceably assemble and freedom of speech" and then support that blog. They're a hate blog, and you have to decide if that's what you want your blog to be as well.

Only our great career politicians are true patriots--they do such a great job--look at the state of the country now???

I always wonder for just what effect the Conspicuous Gun-Toters are hoping. If it's to impress the rest of us, then it's definitely not working. If it's to scare us, that's a lot closer. Those who break the law should be investigated and prosecuted.

Very Happy there are more blogs about our local government. Mr. O'Hare is just a Lamont McClure sycophant. He merely mouths authoritarian McClure's talking points. He has viciously attacked all who have questioned the regime's antics.

We need a solid person to oppose McClure for Executive. Many employees will certainly vote for Mr. Lynch. We think he should run or Executive and not council because the problem is McClure. We could certainly benefit from a few independent voices on council, especially to counter the far left loon Zirinski. Still the need is greatest at Executive.

Its not the guys walking around with guns you should fear, The ones to fear are those you have never heard of or seen.

LOL- "legitimate assembly" and "lawfully rallied", you oh so badly want to say "peaceful assembly" but unfortunately you can't.

The "Stop the Steal Rally" was an event for morons, created by morons, in celebration of a moron and all of it built on a great big foundation of pathetic lies which makes the events of that day even more tragic and sad.

Clearly a vast majority of the people who were there on Jan 6th did not enter the Capitol and should not be prosecuted or persecuted for believing a lie and placing an individual above both party and country. The FBI has cell phone telemetry data and plenty of security video, not to mention access to social media postings, the people who broke the law that day will all have their day of reckoning with the US Justice System.

"a few independent voices"

well Lynch takes his orders from the Reichstag ...

You can't be serious. Those teaching our children are teaching the far left agenda. BLM week and all

Way to promote unity calling all those there morons. Guess you think 75 million Americans are morons.

"Guess you think 75 million Americans are morons."

No one called the 75 million who voted for Trump morons. That is incorrect. You are conflating that with the reckless behavior of the insurgents. I know many fine people who supported Trump. I know many others who were misled into believing what they wanted to believe despite the plain evidence. Some of them are good friends. Shit, my brother is a Trump supporter. I would call those who engaged in insurrection more than morons. I'd call them what they are - domestic terrorists.

"Those teaching our children are teaching the far left agenda. BLM week and all" It's pretty obvious no one taught you. Your first sentence is incomplete. Your second sentence is not a sentence and makes no sense.

I agree, but they're not prancing around in public like the others.

Steve as been warned that your so-called interview is a McClure set up. He is aware of your bias and the job you were assigned is to attack him and write crap.

Bernie O'Hare said...

That’s nice. He has read me and I warned him we have differing views on just about everything, but he still welcomed the opportunity to talk. And by the way, nobody tells me what to write. Ever.

Says the guy who probably has a "Trump 2020: Fuck Your Feelings" flag hanging on his house.

Pretend righty special forces, and woke catcher's equipment wearing lefties are distracting. They're no threat, though. Beware of those you never read or hear about. You never will as long as you leave them alone. But everyone wants a fight and piece of everyone else's business. It's like Christian missionaries wondering how they ended up in a soup pot they could have avoided by minding their business. Wokeness is a religious, however, and I expect it'll make the same mistakes as prior faiths have while forcing their faith on infidels and unbelievers.

Did Benji serve in the military or hold a job in law enforcement?

Seriously - why do all of these right wing gun goons look like they've never missed a meal in their lives? These guys couldn't run 100 yards before a full blown coronary event took them out.

And everyone of them always with the "Soldier of Fortune" cover photo pose.

7:34, if the gun-worshipers truly stick to themselves, then there's no problem. It's a lot iike bears.

He's a "graphic artist", with adolescent infatuation with authority symbols, likes to play costume dress up, has a thing for guns, sports a beard, classic text book case of over compensation if there ever was one - almost a stereotype really. I hope one day he can come to peace with who he really is and accepts himself without being ashamed.

Run for Executive Steve. Don't let O'Hare talk you out of it. He is just protecting hos guy McClure.

Let's not forget about Amy Lynn Eckert who is also talked about in that blog and whom just opened up Carrera Organics uptown. I'm not one for doxing but if you play stupid games you win stupid prizes. I know I for one will not be spending any money in her shop as won't any of the other liberals that I know.
