Lynch Identifies NorCo GOP Council Candidates

NorCo GOP Exec candidate Steve Lynch identified five GOP Council candidates. Team Lynch consists of the following:

Annamarie Robertone. - A paramedic and public health professional who appears to be well-qualified, but she will be tarnished by her association with Lynch.

John Goffredo. -  A well-respected Slate Belt name. Goffredo appears to be incensed by Governor Wolf's lockdown. So was I, but this has nothing to do with county government.

Kristin Lorah Soldridge. -  Another patriot who never spent a day in the military. Watching this video should tell you all you need to know.

Nicole Romanishan. - Treasurer of the Point Phillips Rod and Gun Club and lifetime NRA member who wants to "protect our right to carry." She's posted about illegal immigration and has raised doubt whether President Biden is really in charge on her County Council Facebook page. None of this has anything to do with county government.

Scott Hough. - A perennial candidate who's always running and always losing.

So basically we have 6 whiney malcontent buck privates in the platoon, all complaining about their roles and thinking that they should be the sergeants and lieutenant.

None of these people are "Leaders", they aren't "Problem Solvers", I doubt they're good listeners, planners, adaptable or very creative. Above all, I don't think they would have the capability to effectively communicate why their chosen tactics are needed to accomplish strategic goals.

All I've seen or heard so far from them is "I don't like the current administration/leadership". Thats not remotely close to being a reason to switch.

Regardless of her party affiliation, I hope that Ms. Robertone uses her smarts and good sense to benefit the people of the county..

7.45, sounds just like the Biden campaign, you obviously liked that.

Guilt by association is real. People who use "buck private" also use "malarky," and wear Depends.

That’s malarkey

"That’s malarkey"

It depends...

@9:47 - Biden was part of US Government for nearly 50 years, so that alone makes him an accomplished leader, familiar with the territory, demonstrated ability to build consensus around ideas and legislation - wasn't all great, definitely some errors and missteps, but worthwhile knowledge of what needs to be done. A stark contrast to an inexperienced "outsider" who got a shot, but shat the bed.

Buck private? The term sounds funny. I think of a ram rod muzzle loader with a three cornered hat!

Your comments sound just like the democratic ticket of McClure and his buddy Chucky complaining about John Brown 4 years ago. Fun how that apple didn't roll far from the same tree. lol

Will they sign a document stating that there was no widespread voting fraud in the 2020 elections and that Pres Biden won the election fair and square?

I watched an interview ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmhKsrh3ZDo ) that I found it enlightening as to how far the NorCo GOP has evolved since the 2010 Tea Party splash, but especially since 2016 under Trump's culture. I can recall a time when some of these folks spoke of the GOP having a big enough tent. Anymore, its tolerance for non-conformity seems more akin to a pup tent. Just ask Charlie Dent.

Anyway, I could be wrong but would assume these candidates above fall in line. Some observations from the interview:

1. Pence's name is literally cut out of the campaign sign hanging on the wall. This screams a couple things. One, despite being an excessively loyal VP, Trumpist loyalty is one-sided, and ANYONE is disposable if not absolutely 100% in line with "the leader" and willing to fall on the sword for him. Second, while I would hope they opposed the "hang Mike Pence" chants, many obviously share in the "spirit" of that "disappointment" that Trump himself tweeted out during the Jan 6 "event."

2. Grave unhappiness with Toomey who, despite his conservative credentials, doesn't "defend us" like Trump does.

3. The GOP from the local up to Harrisburg needs to be replaced with "Patriots", which is the new rebranding of MAGA. They believe that Harrisburg GOP are part of the uni-party "swamp."

4. As the Chair elaborated on the "new litmus tests", I assume all GOP running locally in NorCo will have answered yes: a.) "Do you believe in the Deep State?" if they hem and haw in political speak, do not vote for them. b.) "Do you think there was fraud in the 2020 election?" If they say no, do not vote for them. Stop worrying about prolife. They (GOP) are all going to say there prolife, you need to ask them this new litmus test.

5. To build off of Bernie's tongue in cheek post the other day about McClure being "a slave to Communist China" there apparently is a widespread belief of that possibility in the local GOP. As it was asked in the interview, "Who is running the government? We know it's not Biden..... Are we already being run by China?"

6. Finally, between this interview, and the one on this "program" with one of the other above NorCo candidates, the national polarized politics is becoming overly localized, even though they often have nothing to do with the issues that local governments deal with.

It is amazing what has happened to the party of Reagan. That party is no more. Hopefully the locals at least are not Qanon. I know someone who fell into that hole, and I eventually had to cut myself off from them to get away from that craziness.

I will not advocate here "for" any party, but I certainly know what I am "against." And every morning when I have to look out my kitchen window to see the American flag disrespectfully flown upside down on my neighbor's house, I am reminded how angry and repulsed January 6th made me. I just pray to God (and I do) that we can grow out of this rightwing populism someday (can't really call it conservatism).

I’m going to drop off 6 ballots at the courthouse dropbox like some other people did last election. Don’t believe me? Ask the sheriff’s...

Bernie O'Hare said...

What does that have to do with Lunch's claim that the Chinese Commies control us? Oh, nothing.

Some people were dropping off multiple ballots provided by members of their family and neighborhood. Technically, that is a violation. But it is by no means criminal. A husband who drops off a ballot at a box for his wife is no more a criminal than a husband who drops off her stamped ballot in the mail. There is no criminal intent. This is certainly no example of election fraud. By the way, if the sheriffs see a felony committed in their presence, they can make an arrest. Why didn't they? Because they know there is no crime and they would end up looking like idiots. If you see the same person coming in multiple times with multiple ballots, then you have a problem. This did not happen.

I agree ballot harvesting is a concern and am very leery of the possibility of party bosses filling out ballots and collecting them. I am concerned that people who have ballots can be paid to fill them out. There are allegations this happened in a state house race last year. In that case, the candidate was a manager in a housing development and was alleged to have filled out ballots and paid people. That matter was under investigation. No charges were filed, so I believe these were only rumors.

After the CPAC convention it is clear the Republicans will sweep Northampton County elections this fall. We make America great again from the ground up!

my bad....so hard to tell with these MAGIdiots

Linguistics aside @7:45 isn't wrong. You have people with no clue or experience complaining about government and think they can do a better job. Only idiots nominate and vote for idiots - but Hooray MAGA!!!

@5:09 - CPAC has become a parody of what it once was. If you looked at the audience, and watched the majority of those speakers this weekend - its political porn for weak minded simpletons. I attended CPAC at National Harbor from 2014-16 it blows my mind to see what its become. The whole thing has become an embarrassing circus freak show. There's more grounded realism at a Star Trek convention than at CPAC these days.
