Jim "Graterford" Gregory
On Friday, Gregory was convicted of five separate contempt violations and was immediately sentenced by Judge Leonard Zito to a fifteen month minimum. It was the third time since July that Gregory had been found guilty of violating a PFA Order.
Some of you might think this is harsh. I would agree, except I saw him in Court two Fridays ago, as he repeatedly turned to give his ex-girlfriend a malevolent stare. He tried it again on Friday, but Assistant DA Pat Broscious boldly blocked his line of sight while Deputies told him to knock it off.
Also, Gregory abused his time in the County jail to con fellow inmates into smuggling love notes to his ex.
He learned nothing, blaming the violations on everyone but himself.
Judge Zito had sentenced Gregory to six months in prison after his second contempt violation, but took a chance and let him out after three weeks. A normal person would be grateful. Not Gregory. He promptly began to violate the PFA again, this time on the WGPA 1100 AM. For seven days straight, he spent nearly an hour attacking his ex. This continued despite repeated warnings to station owner Joe Timmer.
Joe Timmer's WGPA 1100 AM amazingly allowed West Easton misfit Tricia Mezzacappa, against whom a libel judgment is on record, to co-host,. The station even allowed her to do the show on her own. She took the opportunity to defame me, Kelly Gross, Gregory's ex, her mother and numerous others repeatedly. Instead of stopping her, WGPA 1100 AM producer Budd Williams joined in the bashing.
What bothered me most were not their attacks on me. it was their vicious attacks against a woman whose sole sin is that she loves her daughter. Gregory's ex-girlfriend's mother, a private woman, is recovering from the sudden loss of three close family members. She tuned in to the radio to hear all kinds of private details about her life divulged on AM talk radio She was also viciously defamed.
She called station owner Joe Timmer to ask that it stop.
"Do you have $200 for your own show?" he asked.
"Then what good are you? You're nothing," he demeaned her. She just wanted to be left alone.
The very next day, Gregory, Mezzacappa and WGPA 1100 AM station producer Budd Williams mocked this woman even more because she had asked to be left alone. It was a sad display of arrogance that hurt a person who is already vulnerable.
