This is terror . If I had to get into this shooters head, I would say that he has a beef with authority over some issue. --OR is't a cell of Muslim extremest want-a be's .Often I visit Trooper Millers little memorial on my way into Toby-Army Depot. He ,being a former Marine at least had a fighting chance. COWARDS!! God bless them and the families.

Pa.Game Commission wants to start 'Trackers" modeled after 'Combat Trackers" from Vietnam. These visual tracker handlers with selected dogs were resurrected for the Marine Corps for use in Iraq and Afghanistan. --Game Commission had people bushwhacked by poachers a while back. They need a program too. This would help establish a starting point. This Pike County shooter apparently hung out after initial assault.Unusual behavior!!! Caliber of firearm and distance of spent cases from victumes will give clue as to WHAT they were dealing with. I will hold their families in my heart & mind as they are in discord over this. Who would do such a thing here in the U.S.? Well- I'd be looking on the internet if I knew how.

After much thought of this situation, and discussion with other military veterans today,The assault against the State Police two days ago was a perpetrator wantonly attempting a 'BAITING OPERATION " that is to; shoot more people as result. Why?I can't tell . But this character wanted to draw in more people, and he did . but fortunately missed them.No doubt in my military mind now,but Why?He is not a rifle expert but an armature-But wants to be somebody --for a reason. But who? Why would some do this here in America? I believe the families are now at risk. Hope they have guys with them at this point.

an armature? really?

Anon ;11;59, The competency classification here with all do respect to you ,Ms.or Sir IS relative to some documented standard. Historically , vary competent firearms handlers, those competitive and thus comparative. IE; NRA Expert or Master Classifications or 'Distinguished Pistol or Rifle ".They never appear to ever hurt anyone. Shots made across a parking lot with a .308 Win. firearm does not mean anymore competency than My swing of a $250.00 golf club -I can't send the ball hardly at all - like maybe you and many of the readers of this blog probably can. It's relative to something ,some standard. One way or other ,Law Men are going to have their hand full. This issue now calls for Infantry tactics ,unfortunately they will be ill prepared for this event. Hope they get him to surrender with no casualties.

So we do need police to be more militarized?

Ok,Here is the issue as I would see it from an Infantry standpoint. The authorities have missed 2 starting points to track this felon. They really were not in the business to; operate like this .So now they are naturally behind the curve. His plan to get away -foiled by vehicle in stuck in muck .He did not recon his escape rout ,that tell/s me he is still a thriller what a be and not a professional. So now his brain is also going high speed. He has disrespected his parents and he is now on a tangent ,on the run .Not part of he plan . Now he is held up in a place like Peck's Pond ,a cabin otherwise unoccupied. Naturally he needs to eat. May have ditched the Mohawk and has sun glasses on . Tired and out of sorts ,not really a survival guy just his 'beard' ! He mat know how to defeat FLIR ,but it probably took the state 12 hrs. to even show up with an-pbs -4's/or nvg. They needed nvg in the inception. He is now beat up .Only salvation now is a contact, cell dead about now too. He will hijack a vehicle. Stay tuned.

Bernie as you can see my posts on your blog are indeed at least 24 hrs ahead of events posted by media. FOR the record 20 sept 2014 -This operation will more than likely take shape after a week. The college boys of the FBI will do things a bit differently,They have contacts and recourse. This 'COWARD" they are looking for ,if alive, now not even in the zone hunted . If he did not already commit suicide-- he is gone. SO;now what? I personally wish I could hunt him, so I will tell your readers how I would do it.I want to see justice done and I have heartfelt concern for his family even though I don't know them. I would be in plain cloths and look like a Monroe County Sr. Citizen /on the approach to any cabin .See If he shoots an old guy walk.n his dog , he he dead meat . So NON_UNIFORM and NON-_COMO anyplace now. Otherwise a mistake, The after action review of this situation will....This guy IS IN A cabin dead or alive if here at all.

AN Armature is meant to be amateurs that quarterback BIG LEAGUE football games,Monday night--get it?They are in a chair and have never done a football game or anything else.I probably should not use closed vernacular. Sorry.

Blacked out helicopter sighting is really not blacked out .Light is seen with nvg,s ,or a common cell phone photo would show light.FAA rules - but this would be a National Guard, Army- operation -most likely here, in support of State Police,in non-combat role-use of FLIR Maybe!

Teams approach a cabin at night ,no lights on ,use of nvg's and therm o cameras- one man with a heavy weapon goes to a door , and other to any other door ,then 2nd section turns on bright lights and observatory movement in windows after light on- is done .Any movement move away as if on observation of suspect caught and stand off 100 yrds call in larger group . Let him think you saw nothing and moved on , Broken glass and door locks will be clue about forced entry.
