NorCo's Paralegal is Suing Northampton County, HR Director

Sharon Lerch is a paralegal and the Office Administrator in the Northampton County's Solicitor's office. And she's suing both the County and Human Resources Director Amy Trapp. Exactly why is unclear. Courthouse records indicate she filed what is known as a writ of summons on February 15.  But there's no Complaint, so the exact basis of her lawsuit is unclear. The only thing known for sure is that it is an employment dispute.

Lerch was seriously injured in an automobile accident several years ago when a car ran into her as she crossed the street from the courthouse to her own car. She still walks with a limp.

She is being represented in this matter by Attorney Karl Longenbach, who himself is the former NorCo Solicitor.

She was still working at ~6:30 PM and never was paid for the OT from that day or others.

She didn't punch in so she wasn't on the books.

Employers forbidding employees from filling time sheets is common practice out here in the private world. They put them on salary, work them 70 hours a week, plus on-call...be nice if something could be done. It's not just the OT but if you get hurt you can't even prove you're there.

Was she injured in the crosswalk that is now disguised with black paint?

That is a very dangerous crosswalk. I almost got hit in it several times. When leaving the courthouse and crossing the street toward voter registration there is a big blind spot to your left because of Easton parking meters being allowed. The other factor is piss poor driving by the people using that area.

At 2:43 AM - I agree but John Brown, the one who states that employees are the number one asset, had it painted over in black so the County can't be sued. Jerk!

I understand we got some leftover blue paint that's being used for safety paint elsewhere, perhaps we could get some at the crosswalk.

Check with the city this is not a legal crosswalk. That is why is was painted over.
