Bethlehem Tp's Loss Is The United Nations' Gain

Last night, Bethlehem Township's Board of Commissioners was poised to dump Pat Breslin as its Vice President. He had already alienated fellow Commissioners with an ill-considered WAEB-790AM radio talk show appearance in which he slammed them over matters for which he, himself, voted. As if that were not bad enough, he pretty much has single-handedly thrown a monkey wrench into controversial plans for a retirement community at Green Pond with statements calling it a "done deal." His intemperate remarks left the Board with little choice but to hire an outside hearing examiner to decide the matter. But Breslin beat them all to the punch and stepped down on his own.

Commissioners immediately and unanimously voted to install Tom Nolan as Vice President.

Breslin has told township officials that he plans to start working for the United Nations soon, so he'll probably be pretty busy negotiating treaties  And then there's his bi-weekly paper, The Township Observer, which has yet to publish a single issue.

So this is for the best.

Bethlehem Township's loss is the United Nations' gain.

Breslin is not seeking re-election. He can't Redistricting placed him in the first ward, which is represented by Nolan.

Couldn't Breslin run against Nolan, if they live in the same district?

@4:43 He could... in three years, Nolan just won reelection to his ward in 2016.
