Two union contracts are reportedly on their way for approval by Northampton County Council. Once I have details, I will share them with you.

Juvenile officers won arbitration case. County blew it..Cathy Allen blew it. The county did not bargain in good faith and now will pay dearly for their ineptitude and arrogance. Back wages coming and hefty cola up grades. Health insurance deal also slammed by arbiter. Union!
This a pure example of why so many workers join unions because the administration refuses to treat all fairly. Besides the secret rasises that were given, most if not all of the unions will be getting salary increases while those career service people will not. Eventually, unions will be earning more than most career service employees. For example, some correctional officers earn more than their supervisors. Another example is those clerical techs who were given raises last month will now get another 5% percent increase on top of the 4.5% increase. A 9% increase is ridiculouis while others are getting nothing. The county is way out of balance when it comes to paying fairly to ALL !
Residual would be silly to vote no. What the county proposed and what was awarded are drastically different. It was laughable how little the county wanted to give. It was written that all the county wanted to do was take.
If residual votes no then they deserve what the county was initially offering. 0% for 2 years. 1% and 1.5% the next 2 years with increases in heathcare and no gap insurance anymore. Change to overtime and other areas that would further demoralize the worker.

Residual needs to vote NO

Ahhh how much longer can county workers take the current administration! Non-Union workers are getting screwed!!!
5:08 you are SO right!
Plain and simple, it is time for County non-union workers to organize and get a raise that has been long overdue.
