NorCo Council unanimously approved 11 municipal park projects within 10 different municipalities.at their May 21 meeting Grants awarded from the open space program are as follows:
Hanover Township - $182,477.71 to develop two multi-purpose recreational fields, a paved parking lot and an ADA accessible walking path at Village View Park.
Upper Nazareth Township - $104,640.03 to provide bonded rubberized mulch at three park playgrounds along with a paved parking lot.
Washington Township - $87,016.09 to oil and chip the parking lots and driveways at the Recreation Complex.
Bethlehem Township - $398,508.74 to develop walking paths, fencing and trail marker posts and landscaping at Housenick Memorial Park.
Borough of Northampton - $166,691.86 to acquire and develop a parking area at 416 E 4th Street for a playground.
Borough of Nazareth - $96,495.21 for a safety fence around the new pool.
Borough of Freemansburg - $44,267.55 for repairs to a footbridge across the Lehigh Canal, along with Trailhead Parking.
Plainfield Township - $103,078.24 for improvements at the park and along the recreational trail.
City of Bethlehem - $25,000 for a Skateplaza Shade Canopy.
City of Bethlehem - $210,000 for a new Northampton-Lehigh Footbridge over the Monocacy Creek.
Lower Mount Bethel Township - $21,45.95 for Kiefer Ballfield Playground equipment nd mulch, along Riverton Fitness Trail equipment.
