Fed Ed Still in Denial

On June 29, Attorney Scott Allinson was sentenced to 27 months for his role in Allentown's pay-to-play scandal. He was whisked off as his attorneys protested that the court should at least wait until a minimum security facility was available  There were fears that he would spend the next few months at a federal detention center in Philly, not the most pleasant of accommodations. According to Bureau of Prison records, that's where he is. But I have heard that he may instead be a guest at Lehigh County's jail.

What impact did all this have on former Allentown Mayor Edwin "Fed Ed" Pawlowski?  Apparently, none. That night, Allentown was featuring the Black Panther at Stevens Park. Fed Ed was there, handing out Popsicles, pretending he is still he Mayor.

Ed is enjoying probably the last weeks of freedom he will ever have. The dark clouds on his horizon are growing closer by the day. Once he is gone, he won't be coming back.

Ever.

Mayor Pawlowski would make a terrific guest on The Alan Jennings Radio Hour.
Wouldn’t that be entertaining.
They could start by reminiscing about the LCA water deal.
It would be like an Oldies Show, a blast from the past.

Whatever Pawlowski did seems to pale in comparison to what has transpired at NMM. It may be that Sorrentino, Laputka, et al are too big to fail. We shall see.

God Bless Mayor Pawlowski!

Go on FedEd's twitter page and he still lists himself as "mayor of 3rd largest city in PA".

This guy is unbelievable. No remorse! The King has fallen and he acts like he is still King. I hope judge Sanchez recognizes this and sends him away for a long, long, time. On September 5th reality might set in, however, this guy is is either to arrogant, dumb or out of face with reality. His small band of minority followers will cry at his forced departure, and the rest of us will rejoice for justice.

Disgraceful to hear Alan Jennings try to minimize Ed Pawlowski's conviction on 47 counts of felony corruption.

@8:10AM
What’s 47 felony counts among friends?

8:10, I am among Fed Ed’s harshest critics, but have no quarrel with someone who remains loyal to a friend. Hate the sin, not the sinner.

Handing out popsicles is generous. I can't help wonder, though. The Pawlowski family suddenly lost its income, is unlikely to replace it, and is facing enormous past and future legal bills. What is the rationale for handing out free popsicles?

Is he simply enjoying a summer activity that probably won't be an option next year? Perhaps with popsicles that have been in the freezer since last summer? Or is this a cynical attempt to paint Pawloski as a dogged do-gooder whose good deeds were ended by overzealous Feds?

Whether he is in denial or not, he probably is trying to spend as much time with his family as he can before the ball drops. While I feel little sympathy toward him for his actions, it's hard not to think about his children and the loss they are going to experience.

Ed Pawlowski would not have been able to pull off the indefensible LCA water scam without Mr. Jennings aggressive support.
Mr. Jennings has his own copious sins to atone for.
This boondoggle goes well beyond the matter of friendship.

A poopsicle is coming Ed..... And it's not gonna be cold....

There were people who once called Pawlowski a “friend”. When they dared to speak up against overt corruption they were harassed, threatened, lost their jobs, livelihoods, home or standing in the community.
Jennings chose silence.

Have a nice weekend Bernie, hope you get double parked in during visit to the Queen City.

"Jennings chose silence."

Jennings never chose silence and in fact tried to persuade his friend to resign. He also talked to the FBI, and without a lawyer,=. It is anonymous cowards like you, who smear people but do not identify yourselves, who choose silence.

That is a fair point.

The kids are damn lucky that their mother isn’t going to jail with the old man

I am personally offended by the jail sex reference sin regard to Mayor Pawlowski. Can we please refrain from it.

Ed has been doing this for months. You are just catching on he's been everywhere from the Lt governor debate at Moravian college, to iftar dinners during Ramadan, and Re-org of the Lehigh county Democratic committee which he was allowed to vote at last month.

Pawlowski is the happy face of the Lehigh County VOTE BLUE movement.

Bernie, on a related issue, whatever happened to Mike Fleck? Where is he? Was he given full immunity or does he still face charges? Why didn't he testify?

People can say what they want about Mayor Pawlowski but I appreciate his advice. When I was tagged with a weird nickname, he said own it and turn it around on people. Now I use it as my own.
