NorCo Judicial Debate on October 29

When you elect a judge, the term of office is ten years. If an incumbent judge wants to remain on the bench, there's a retention election. o essentially, one he or she sis elected, we're stuck. That's why a judicial race is so important. Attorneys Sam Murray and Vic Scomillio will cross swords on Thursday October 29, 7 pm, at the Northampton County Courthouse, in what will be their first and only judicial debate. I'll be interested in hearing Vic explain how he expects to be elected judge after costing the County $300,000 for violating the constitutional rights of a County worker. I'd like to know how he can claim to be compassionate when he fires someone by phone, and just two days before Christmas. I'd like to know his role in some of the ridiculous legal decisions made by Executive John Brown, which include trying to balance a budget with an illegal $20 million line of credit and hiring a public relations consultant on the taxpayer dime. Should be fun!

Gonna vote for Sam because of his experience and track record. Victor may one day be a viable judicial candidate but not now under the cloud of the Brown administration and his involvement there. victor is a decent person but you have to be more than that to sit on the bench. Let the debate begin.

@6:50AM Copying and pasting on Bernie's blog? My guess is he will crack down on that. It is a mindless action, done by someone with nothing to say. Based on your comment on manhood, you are giving yourself away as MezzaKooky or the bowel movement (aka Blog Mentor). Between Kooky claiming Bernie has it in for women (there are no women in this story - doh!) and has been cheerleading for Vic the incompetent for months, and this article criticizes him, that are more clues. No RAV4 this winter? Too bad, but it is supposed to be a warm one so double chin up.

Bernie - you have a small typo - "$3000,000" I believe should be $300,000. Thanks for letting use know about this event!

Vic will win by at least 2%.. He as well as the Republican candidates for the county will sweep.

you can't possibly want a judge who created a 300,000 + lawsuit BEFORE he took office, defended a minimum of 4 illegal contracts (why no written opinions like Lauer produced?), defended a budget based on a 20 million line of credit, promised on video not to use outside labor counsel but did (30,000 plus in 10 months) Lack of or poor advice: 140 email hidden; the Exec himself and his buddy with illegal pay raises illegally take taxpayer $ for their meals; elected officials denied admittance to a press conference.......

If you are insane enough to vote for that, do the good and hardworking people a big favor, DO NOT VOTE

Presently Bernie ,this voting cycle is suppressed, only the super voter proportionate to the whole pool will show. I respectfully disagree with Anon 3;17 I believe in this case, Sam will move ahead in venues unexpected ,I say Sam will close the results with 7 -9 percent over his challenger. These percentages, that I predict here are not scientific.Even costly poles have problems now getting the right information because of restrictions on ability to pin down real voters in the query .and largely lack of home hard line phones WERE PEOPLE WILL SIT STILL. This will come down to ;personal relationships and matters of the heart on this one folks. We will now see if I have my foot in my mouth. Good luck all.

Taking a few days to catch up on this blog, I have to agree with Mr. Cochran on this race. Murray should win this by a lot more than 7-9 percent given the character of his challenger. Poor judgments and decisions by Scommilio in the past will not get him very far. Scissorhands Severnson will go negative and blow Scomillio's chances of ever competing again.

Bernie it is 19;00 hrs only half a dozen comments on this Judges race. That tells me something. This is NOT an issue from most people at OUR court house and the general public. This being Monday, a pent-up demand should have emerged to say their stuff -----and not much. This will hearts and minds in this race> Me being a hard leaning R voting for Sam may surprise some, but I always voted for Bob Freeman, because he IS HONEST and to mE personal integrity is foremost over my political registration. Believe this-- I would vote to hang unscrupulous conniving politicians that screwed the taxpayers if I could legally.Plus, strip their family assets to a widows pension at best, and return it to the state. Yes I said that.
