If It's Monkey Business, It Matters ... to Feds

Tony Iannelli likes to end his popular Business Matters show by saying, "If it's business, it matters!" Monkey business matters to the feds, and Tony's name was added with others to an increasingly long list of players in the federal investigation into Allentown Mayor Edwin "Fed Ed" Pawlowski's pay to play practices.

It's important to note that most of the people identified in this latest round of names, like the first, are completely innocent. Tony Iannelli, for example, is a gentleman and one of the nicest persons I've ever met.

What this tells me is that Fed Ed is not going gently into that good night, and feds are getting all the information they can to build what already appears to be a strong RICO case.

My guess? Tony covered some of those illegal expenses.

The operative word there is "guess."

Mayor Pawlowski's charitable contributions to the community are well documented. His commitment to the poor and underprivileged classes has been superhuman. No one has cared more, shown such compassion and empathy except maybe Alan Jennings, Bill White and a few others who were wise enough to recognize the enormous benefit of a fabulously expensive minor league hockey rink.

Repeated assaults on the integrity of such a good Christian man are unfortunate as the Mayor heroically stands strong in the face of unsubstantiated rumors and false allegations. The glitz and glitter of Pawlowski's transformative NIZ will outsparkle whatever non-sense the FBI wants to waste the taxpayers' money with in a court of law. Perhaps then will the hostile media recognize the true greatness of the Mayor's impressive stewardship of the City Without Limits and at long last grant him the adoration he so richly deserves.

Favorite episode of Tony Ianelli's Business Matters was when the indispensable Fleck schooled the rable-rousing citizen Molovinsky and the Lehigh economic professor during the Great NIZ Debate.

RICO implies Mayor Pawlowski was part of a corrupt organization and so exactly how many people not named Fleck are a part of that corrupt organization?

We know public officials #1 and 2, Acosta and Ramzi Hadaad so far. It will be interesting to see how far it extends.

The court jester of the corporate lords of the Lehigh Valley has been named. You may be reluctant to think he did anything wrong because he puts your patron Ron
Angle on his goofy show for ratings, he doesn't get.

Your line about him being the nicest most wonderful guy was funny. It is what everyone says about their thug brother, son, friend right after he is arrested "but he was such a wonderful person."

The guy is on the Allentown renaissance up to his bow tie.

And not a word about BSI giving $5,000 to campaign after beating Caruso for a lucrative city benefits contract. Unfortunately, or fortunately, these are common business practices. If you want to purge the dirty laundry, (1) scrap Citizens United. (2) eliminate PACs and financial contributions over $250.00 (3) eliminate the safe harbor called paid lobbyists. I would like to see the price tag on this investigation thus far and remind folks that their taxes fund this operation. As far as Ianelli paying expenses, that is laughable. The next check he picks up will be his first. How high is the tab thus far that hides Fleck and his wife? We are paying that tab too and HE is the biggest piece of shit out there. Fleck just sings a bit louder and if this is all he has for the Feds, I'm not impressed and doubt they are either. Why doesn't anybody talk about Mark Jaindl shaking down businesses and unions for Pat Browne's campaign/bar tab??
The Teflon drunk hobbles away scot free.

There is a BIG dirty shady name missing from this FBI probe... CHARLIE THIEL!!!!!! The FBI needs to look into Mr no bid contract himself and the huge Fed Ed connection with tax dollars missed used and extreme over payments that have been made...

http://www.mcall.com/news/breaking/mc-allentown-sixth-walnut-developers-20141013-story.html

It appears the FBI believes that two of the developers mentioned in this article may have been willing to do something questionable to get selected for this development. A new parking deck is being completed at 6th and Walnut.

Part of the site was reserved for future development (such as apartments), that would connect into the parking levels.

I believe Jeff Trainer was trying to build a medium-sized music concert facility in downtown Allentown, prior to deciding to build the facility at the Sands Event Center.

Notice that there is no probe of corruption in the Christmas City. That's because there is nothing of any significance happening in the area of economic and community development. The City has a caretaker administration afraid of most any positive or progressive action less it affects someone's try at a second term. The guy is so slow it took him 3 months to pull his endorsement of EP for the senate.

@ anonymous 522...Molovinsky has been right about Thiel and his activities since day one. It's only a matter of time before the FBI gets wind of good ole Charlie.....unless he isn't being mentioned because he's been cooperating behind the scenes...attempting to sneak into the mayors spot on Ed is sent up river.

@4:34 AM. Caruso Benefits is a worthless insurance brokerage firm. They just collect their commissions without doing anything to provide value to their clients. That's why they got the boot in Allentown and other places.

Wait!!! Hold the presses!!!! Major economic development event in the snoring city. BD just unveiled new streets signs. What an exhausting event. Time for Bobby to take his nap.

This is outrageous. Mayor Pawlowski is the champion of Allentown's hard-working citizenry, who have elected him by overwhelming margins on several occasions. To besmirch Pawlowski is to bad mouth Allentown's citizens, the majority of whom are minorities. Once again, old white guys show why it's okay for them to be properly hated by the general public.

Word is that it was the noble Pawlowski, whose wife knows all about how children carrying signs make excellent props for the media, who ended the ASD Walkout Crisis by convincing kids that it was in their best interests to remain in school.

Only Democrats care, of course, and that is why it remains most important to elect Citizens For A Better Allentown candidates.

Shameless plugs above are without a doubt coming from the wee Willie Reynolds wannbe mayor camp.
Leave Bethlehem out of the Allentown crime scene, it's a well oiled machine on the straight and narrow.

This must be the same person who was sending me all kinds of anonymous emails telling me I have to do this or that about Thiel and who got very indignant when I asked him what his motive was. This guy went over to MM's blog and posted this nonsense as well. Here's how MM responded.

"he city does business with many companies and people. although, you use words like shady,i have no reason to believe that any impropriety occurred. you're free to contact the FBI, and share your insight with them, rather than make anonymous accusations on blogs."

I adopt his response with approval.

As much as I poke fun at him for being an over-the-top, glad-handling cheerleader of all things Lehigh Valley, I doubt Tony is at fault for anything in this mess. Just not his style.

I don't know if Charlie Thiel is dirty or not, but he is creepy (for a good Christian), and I'd be happy to never see his name on a ballot again.

anon 8:3 more of your poor humor. You r satire is as subtle as a boot to the face. Satirical humor is an art and your are no artist.

Your teabagger hate and anger is too deeply rooted in your words to allow any humor to emerge. Some of the likeminded dolts who read this news blog will applaud but then they are the same ones still looking for Obama's birth certificate.

Where there is smoke, there is fire. Don't be surprised if Tony Jellybelly was involved in some city shenanigans to help out the chamber.

The sad part about Tony's alleged involvement is that you can have all the influence you want and it doesn't matter.

We'd still kick your ass in the ratings.

Sincerely,

Blog Mentor aka 2:20,

Who brought up teabagger, the homosexual term? You did (aroused or something?).
Who brought up anger & hate? You did (and you are quite the expert, I must admit).
Who brought up Obama's birth certificate? You did (for what, only God knows).

Meanwhile, my accountant is very glad to see that I continue to live in your head rent free!
