Bushkill Township is the newest domino to fall in the succession of municipalities that are joining Hanover and Bethlehem Township in challenging Allentown's EIT tax grab. I'll have more tomorrow.

Good for Bushkill Township!
Mr. Geeting now warns of counter-suits for loss of revenues by NIZ beneficiaries due to delays caused. I realize anyone can sue anyone, but this is a real stretch.
Any binding order, contract escape clause, etc. exercised to delay or cancel construction will NOT be made by the surrounding communities.
I scan Geeting, but don't really read Geeting, ASD. I think it's a waste of time. He does not know any of the dynamics involved, knows none of the players, goes to none of the meetings. He simply reacts to what he reads in the paper. He has already made clear that his real reason for promoting this is to help the Dem party. It's what I'd expect from some snot who dances on the grave of a dead conservative. He hurts his own cause, but is too arrogant to realize it.
The next lawsuit will NOT be a countersuit. But there will be another suit. I'll tell you about that tomorrow.
The Morning Call is reporting that Mayor Edwin is going to let all the suburbs money be released back to them. That is if they let this lawsuit go away. That is mighty nice of him.
Another lawsuit, I can't wait. JB and Topper should be in someone's line of fire. No one jumped on the fact that Mark Jaindl will now benefit with his property in the NIZ waterfront.
King Edwin and his crew can't make any deals. The NIZ was created by legislation and signed into law by two governors (Rendell & Corbett).
I hope the legislation is brought up before the legislature and then we'll see it further implode. Browne would be lucky to get his own vote for passage. I'd bet not one of the Lehigh Valley delegation would vote "aye."
What will be more interesting to see who will submit their name for the Democrat opening on Allentown's City Council. With their track record, I bet the King's wife might be a shoe-in.
Doc Rock is right. Although he wants to be Governor, Pawlowski is only Allentown's Mayor and lacks the authority to cut a deal on behalf of the state. But then again, I just found out the NIZ legislation wasn't really written by a legislator.
The word "geeting" has become a complete joke with both dems and repos. no conection to the area, talks out of his ass, etc. he has lost all respect. As a politician, I dont want him on my side.

Do tell! I can't wait.

Bill,
I hope this was meant tongue-in-cheek.
King Edwin does not have the authority to strike that deal.
It would require rewriting the legislation. King Edwin and the filthy rich NIZers won't risk that.
Rewriting the legislation could gut the NIZ preferences entirely.

Bill, I'm unable to find that story. Do you have a link?

Thanks,

Bernie,
I read the MC article on line tonight. Says basically what Brackbill said but no detail. King Ed doesn't have all the info.
Makes you wonder how a decision was made without all the i's dotted and the t's crossed.
Double checked...it's on WFMZ site.
Sounds to me like the anti-Robin Hood is getting real nervous about the lawsuit that "wasn't going to go anywhere."
Memo to Ed: the townships are as tough as the APD union. Are you going to try to negotiate from a position of weakness? Again?
How'd that work out for you and the taxpayers of Allentown the last time?

Geeting. it sounds like something that george Micheal would do in the mens room.
Good for Bushkill.
I actually have a great deal of confidence in the government of Bushkill Twp. If I were a supervisor in a local muni I might push for this too.
Bushkill is well run and its residents like to shoot thieves. Good for the good guys.
