Pa GOP Pumps Brown For Auditor General

On my left sidebar, I have a poll asking you to rate NorCo Exec John Brown's first two years in office, from A to F. Though this is by no means scientific, he's doing poorly. Nevertheless, he has his eyes set on the Auditor General's seat, and picked up the support of the state GOP at their Winter meeting in Hershey on Saturday.

I first told you that Brown intended to seek this seat on November 1.

What this means is that he will be getting paid by the taxpayers of Northampton County to be a full-time candidate because in this state, we have no resign-to-run laws. While Brown is criss-crossing the state trying to pick up votes in a race he must know he will lose, he will assign responsibilities to Cathy Allen, his de facto second in command.

After he falls on the sword and loses, the state GOP will be obliged to find him a nice job, like they did for Bob Nyce.

Wouldn't Campos be in charge? He is the duly appointed county administrator. Allen is an unqualified flunky who should not be in charge of a hot dog cart, let alone a county in absentia.

Bernie O'Hare said...

Campos is the de jure Administrator, but Allen is de facto.

Will he charge County mileage reimbursement ?

Fucking crazy. Sorry for the language but that is the only way I know how to succinctly express the absolute lack of faith in the electoral process and political appointment system this instills in me.

Just like your pals Charlie Dent and Don Cunningham and John
Callahan, etc...did. Of course you supported all of that then and had not a peep to make.

The Rememberer!

1:11, Actually, I did. I realize you are more interested in finding inconsistencies with me than the actual topic, but I suggested such a law was necessary back in 2010. The criticism applies to both parties. I don't think it should apply to a re=election effort or a part-time elected position.

Perhaps his D opponents will highlight his elected official abuse?

But you have no problem when your boy JM does the same thing in all his failed attempts

A very factual post Bernie and a prophetic one also. Allen will do what she does best in JB's absence..attempt to recreate the county in her own warped image. This eventuality must not be tolerated by council. She can do tremendous damage w/o Brown to rein her in. Terrible news for the county at a very critical time.

And you loved when Giordano ran for Superior Court...thats OK though...the mancrush factor has no limits.

Anonymous said...

The more he is away from N-County, the less damage he can do so it's a win-lose.

John Brown once said he wished he had 10 Cathy Allens. Now I see his evil logic. With one he can rule the County. With 5, the State. But with 10 Cathy Allens, this maniac is trying to take over the world!!! He must be stopped!

Worst Mayor is Bangor history. Worst County executive in Northampton history.

We don't have a resign-to-run law, so I do not have a problem with a judge running for judge or apolitician in one office seeking another. But I think we need a resign-to-run law.

Brown is cannon fodder..running for state AG and we all know it. Then why is he doing this? That is the real concern or he is an egomaniac with delusions of greatness? Probably the latter.

Anonymous said...

Has the Republican Machine run out of suitable candidates? The Dems with Hillary, and now this! Time to abandon both Parties.

Anonymous said...

Worst County executive in Northampton history. Not even close. That was Glenn Reibmann with his $111 million bond issue with a swaption attached.

Has the Republican Machine run out of suitable candidates? No, but the State Committee endorsement process discourages open fair competitive primary elections that would produce better candidates. Unless you have a boatload of personal money (like a Tom Smith) it is virtually impossible to run against an endorsed candidate.

Brown, Browne or Palumpa will all soon be having names attached to them like la fifi and will be stained as such till there eternal demise¿!($
Go in peace serve your lord!!$$$

Brown is delusional or mentally defective if he thinks he has a chance of winning the AG race. Not only have LV candidates struggled statewide, his reputation as a bumbling, bungling leader, who chose a cheater and fraud as his second lieutenant will precede him. An AG needs to be highly reputable and competent, two qualities Brown does not exhibit.

Anonymous said...

No argument here in that Glenn Reibmann was a bumbling bobblehead.

Worst county executive ever, John Stoffa without a doubt. Inherited the largest county surplus in history and spent it down, bought more expensive buildings, tried to dump Gracedale and lied to proponents about his support, bungled the swaption and ended up paying out 30 millions, disobeyed county law to get his unemployable hack a vendor job..
The list goes on but why bother. The sofa guy wins.

I thought Callahan was County Exec? He was a shoo-in, right? His bitter supporters are nasty and noisy, here. But they were in the noisy minority then and they are in the noisy minority now. To the silent majority who handed Callahan his ass, Brown has made all the right political enemies. He has my vote.

Brown actually has a good record. He has reduced costs and held the line on employee contracts. The fact that the greedy, crybaby trough feeders hate him is an added bonus. He is exactly what we the people wanted when we voted him in. He should win re-election in a walk. Especially against the mighty midgets like McCluless and Werner.

John Brown is a true leader of the people. Love how he fucks over the over paid/under worked union crybabies to the benefit of the taxpayers.. Their comments condemning him are nothing but scripted bullshit fed to then by their sorry ass union reps as they pay their ridiculous dues for nothing..

Cathy Allen was the author of the previous two posts. No one has benefitted more from Brownie's misguided generosity than her.

and the dems have done a great job in the valley ?? both parties along with their special interest groups like unions created this mess locally, state wide and on a national level. guys like brown and those who came before him remind me of a painting I once saw at an art exhibit.
This is what the govt /both parties think of American tax payers.

5:41,

Obviously posted by a crybaby union puke who doesn't understand the reality of life. Such a pitiful way try to exist.

Anonymous said...

8:12 there is no one more pitiful than someone like you who makes nonsensible assumptions. I am not a union employee, but a Norco taxpayer who is embarrassed to have a clueless phony like Brown as our county executive. Now go back and drive your free county car to work Cathy.

Your pal Ron /Angle invoked your name tonight on Business (doesn't )Matters. He was his usual loud and obnoxious self. Lying as usual about Gracedale an distorting the fact's. He tried to bully the Revd. Martinez and the Revd. shoved it right back in his face. As usual when confronted by a fearless man. Angle sputtered and stuttered like an old car. Wha5t a fool.

Anonymous said...

What flavor kool aid are you drinking? His bungling has cost taxpayers plenty. Arbitration award overturning executive action, civil rights violation costing county over $400,000.00,

Anonymous said...

Venomous bile. Take your canned goods and AK 47 and crawl into your bunker.

Anonymous said...

The "Reverend" Martinez is a fraud who can outbluster even the most obnoxious blusterer. He and Telletubby Barron double teamed Angle, who represented the overburdened taxpayers of the county, who have been propping up the white elephant Gracedale for years. Barron, in his sactimoneous tones, speaks of Gracedale being a "moral obligation" of the county. Bullshit. No county,or city has a moral obligation to run a nursing home, when dozens of comparable facilities already exist in the private sector. That is just nonsense. This is a union issue, pure and simple. Protection of hundreds of union jobs at the taxpayer's expense.

I declined to be part of the show bc now is not the time to be yelling at each other over Gracedale. My thinking has changed, mostly bc of the people who work there. I told Ron he'd get no one who is willing to come out from behind the curtain, and that proved to be correct. But the Fake Rev is a first class phony, and I'm sure Ron made short work of the little hypocrite who wants to "love me to death." I'm sure Barron and Ron were interesting to watch together. I have to check it out. TI puts on a good show, but it is a show.

Anonymous said...

Doesn't John Morganelli also gets paid while he criss-crosses the state on his numerous campaigns?

Anonymous said...

"TI puts on a good show, but it is a show.":

True that Bernie. There was little substance and a lot of yelling and snarking. No real serious discussion. Iannelli encouraged the circus, as the head clown. His show is a joke and just an exercise in ego. According to Angle and Iannelli, there is nothing, nothing government does that the private sector can do better. So why not privatize everything.

Do these guys realize that private companies are about profit, period, end of story. They will either figure out a way to make money or not want to do it.

They are either drinking to much of the Flint water or just trolling everyone with their blather.

Morning Call just reported that Traci Barnes, Brown's HR director who departed for no reason given, has filed a federal lawsuit.

He fired her for bringing up a concern about improper practices...

Anonymous said...

Sell Gracedale!

Anonymous said...

Sell Brown!!! He is costing taxpayers more than Gracedale.

Anonymous said...

This is no surprise at all! Unfair practices run rampid in NorCo. Any whistle blower would be gaged. Too bad someone who cared and did their job was pushed out by JB.

Bernie O'Hare said...

Do yourself a favor and get a dictionary so you can look up the word "rampid." Maybe you'll sound a little less ignorant next time.
