Nazareth's Road Crew - the Mexicans

Nazareth has a seven-man road crew who have worked without a wage hike for five years. Council member Larry Soudt's nephew, Robert Stoudt, is the union steward, and he wants to keep his uncle happy. Council members like Frank Maurek refer to the road crew as "the Mexicans."  I'll have more about this tomorrow, when I'm done reviewing yet another lawsuit by an ex-employee against Nazareth. .

Is this yet another witch-hunt against a government that does not fear you?

As the beat goes on! Another example of the infamous corruptible Borough Council in action. When are the citizen of Nazareth going to wake up? Another lawsuit and more money down the drain. No wander they are the laughing stock of the valley.

Regardless of who said it, or what their position is, using the term "Mexicans" is racist.

union workers "without a wage hike for five years" unions are useless.

If they are Mexican, where is the racism? You are one angry little man.

Um, they are not Mexican and the term is used derisively.

Nazareth public works is surely one of the larger lawncare companies in the valley.Becky Butz and her Nazareth beautification group should take up cutting grass and save the taxpayers some money. You could get rid of half the dead weight from public works ranks.
No they certainly are not Mexicans. They'd accomplish the same tasks in half the time with a smile and be happy to have a job.

The public works department consists of workers that not only cut grass, they plow your roads, shovel countless borough owned sidewalks, they remove your leaves, they maintain all borough buildings, inside and out, and they maintain the equipment/tools to provide all of the above services. They are outside in 105 degree weather, as well as -10 degrees below zero. During terrible storms such as Hurricane Sandy, they were removing trees from roads, clearing debris from storm sewers, all while their own families were without power and struggling to keep the food in the fridge from going bad. To imply that they are dead weight is just ridiculous. These employees have been working without a contract for 4+ years. I can't imagine what would have happened if during the 30" snow storm last winter the "Dead Weight" would have gone on strike!

These hard-working public servants deserve our praise, not ridicule.
