NorCo Parking Deck To Get Facelift

Northampton County Council voted 8-0 last night (Peg Ferraro was on assignment) to spend $101,240 with Timothy Haahs and Associates for architectural and engineering services for renovations at the Courthouse parking deck. The actual renovations, once the work starts, will be in the millions. But if the County fails to act, it is going to be paying that much in damage claims for various cars that have been subjected to falling concrete and acidic water that destroys the paint on vehicles.

Didn't Stoffa already spend millions on rehabbing this deck? So much for competent management.

What is the status of the lawsuit against the engineering firm and contractor from the former botched rehab?

I'd have to check. Last I heard, it was still pending.

The suit has been dragging on for years. By now one would think there should be a settlement. They should tear the thing down and build a state of the art garage on the same site.

Keep spending $$$ on something that was not built right back in the 70's. Cut your losses and build a new one deck across the street on S. Union St, then tear this money pit down.

Can't shine a turd. Hopefully the plan includes a wrecking ball!
