The Library will spend less for office supplies, phones and books. It is still spending $251,000 for new books and ebooks. It will pay more for utilities and a 1% increase overall on $1.9 million in salaries and benefits. The highest paid person at the library, Executive Director Josh Berk, will be paid $73,124.
I noticed that $305 is set aside for Terminix.
"What's that for?" I asked.
"To get rid of book worms," answered Hanover Public Works Director Vince Milite.
The contributions made by each participating municipality are as follows:
- Bethlehem - $1,277.082
- Beth. Tp. - $404,166
- Hanover Tp. - $185,088
- Fountain Hill - $78,295

It's a good library, and it was sad to see Lower Saucon drop out. That being said, I'm not sure it's going to be sustainable into the future given how print books are basically fading into obsolescence, and even some of our poorest citizens have internet connections via phone or otherwise.
At least the last time I was there, the homeless camp wasn't set up in the magazine section.
Money well spent. All families should take time to get their children to the library OFTEN during their elementary school years. That is how to build a love of reading. It's a perfect place to try different genre of books w/o paying for them, and not everyone can afford to keep buying books they DO like.
