Tricia Mezzacappa? Though I doubt she's ever met Fed Ed, she nevertheless states that Fed Ed has been "unnecessarily smeared, defamed, slandered and framed by media outlets" in what she calls a "witch hunt." Of course, Mezzacappa also penned a letter to the editor defending mass murderer Rockne Newell, claiming he was a victim of government oppression. Last year, she ended an email to West Easton Borough Council member Matt Dees with "Have a nice day faggot!" Earlier this year, she was found in contempt in one of her West Easton lawsuits. She also lost a defamation action I filed against her a few years ago.
Another "character" reference comes from another defamation defendant who, like Mezzacappa, claims Fed Ed was framed. "The real story here isn’t who got a steak dinner and Eagles tickets but who was out to get Ed Pawlowski and why."
Alrighty then.
Then we have Kevin Lott, a Carpenters Union official who participated quite extensively in legal pay-to-play, giving Fed Ed gobs of money and getting lots of work. Lott also filed a frivolous suit over the P3 bridge project in Northampton County, and is at least partially responsible for the excessive legal fees that Northampton County paid.
Many of the other letters are actually quite touching, but not these.

Get used to Kevin Lott. You will be seeing a lot of him in Northapton County. At least that is the word about the rubber stamp council.
There was no irreparable damage done to the city.

A good lawyer would have had any letters of support checked to see if they should be included. A simple Google search would have revealed nuts like Mezzacappa.
So Moody taught its scholars that the end justifies the means. Hmmm
There are some nice letters. A person should be judged based the totality of their good and their bad. The most effective letters are not the ones that claim he was framed, but the ones that say he does not deserve a long sentence.
One letter describes how a father could not get the police to act when his daughter was in danger. He called Pawlowski and he made sure the police acted, which resulted in his daughter going through recovery and getting her life back together.
He regularly has volunteered at my church's food bank for a couple years, in addition to other food banks.
The letter to which you refer was penned by Bill Leiner.
Frankly, McMahon should have redacted some information in these letters in the copy for the public. These people did not agree to having their personal emails, cell phone numbers and other private information made public.
Just for laughs, who was it who was supposedly out to get Pawlowski and why?
I understand the feds were out to get the State Treasurer for pay for play, and they happened to catch Fleck and Pawlowski in the process. Fleck and his assistant then had connections to the City of Reading officials. The Reading Mayor's trial is underway now, and other Reading officials have pled guilty.
Reportedly, Pawloski refused to wear a wire to go after others. I believe there is a powerful person (who does not live in the Lehigh Valley) who was the desired target.
Bernie, thanks for the links. Page 9, letter E of the sentencing memorandum states that only two public officials convicted of corruption have received ten years. Of those two, one is being re-sentenced after appeal and another is described as more serious because it involved an official working with the mob. It also notes other officials who pocketed money received substantially less than ten years.
What do you make of this argument?

Pawlowski was a wolf in sheep's clothing. His "good deeds" were meant to fool simple minded people.
This guy fooled a lot of people.
I don't know this back story, but I can think of two (possibly 3) political and business people who fit that bill. Maybe 4, if you go as far as Montgomery County. I'd be curious which one it was.
That picture of Ed in the king's outfit kind of makes him look sweet and innocent.
Instead of focusing on Tricia, let’s focus on how the Executive Director of a nonprofit used company letter head on company time to write a letter supporting a convicted criminal. I hope it wasn’t for political reasons because that could jeopardize their 501c3 status. It’d be interesting to find out if she’s ever donated to his campaign.
