NorCo's Jail is Effectively Locked Down Due to Covid

According to a statement released by Northampton County, 34 inmates at the jail are in quarantine as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. There are currently about 515 inmates.

Executive Lamont McClure confirmed yesterday that the entire jail is effectively in lockdown. No one is allowed to leave his or her cell except for showers. Moreover, everyone must be masked at all times.

McClure indicated that the vast majority of those who test positive at the jail are asymptomatic. He has adopted a rigorous testing policy there.

Please lets not forget about the COs. As of yesterday the count is over 35 positive cases since November 1st. And the number continues to rise.

How about some money for the correction officers and the Juvenile Probation officers to take the vaccine? McCrite has plenty of money socked away in his treasury.

1:32 AM - Agreed. If McClueless can give Baron's special people once again a huge raise, he should take care of the COs, juvenile, and HS first. Can't wait to vote him and the administration out.

Off topic, but a LV Ramblings item (re-elect Zombie politicians) was included in this internet click-bait collection of yard sign photos. https://standardnews.com/the-funniest-yard-signs-youve-ever-seen/9/

Thank you for that information Mr Prez. I am very concerned about the working conditions, not to mention all the mandates you all are subjected to. Stay safe. Looks like I got out at the right time. I definitely made the right call (from 300 Hall). Happy holidays!

McClure only cares about Gracedale. He shows no concern for the other employees

2:40 - McClure doesn't care about Gracedale only re-election.

Things must be great at the county 911 center. During some dispatches you can sometimes laughter in the background.

Wasn't there an article stating that all inmates were wearing N-95 masks? That is a lie, they are issued cloth mask or either the medical mask. Only the CO's are issued N-95 mask and must maintain them for 1 week before being replaced. Wish McClure would stop by the prison some time unannounced and see for himself what is really going on versus taking the prison administration word.

the laughing in the background at the 911 center has been going on for years and they will not controll it.

McClure knows better than to cross over into jail land. No county exec goes there..ever! Verboten! Yes he wants those CO's votes but that is all he wants and gets from those in charge behind the curtain.

McClure and Dertinger have been in the jail on many occasions, why are you people lying, again?

He must be confused with the one and only John Brown, the ghost of leaders past. I can vouch for 6:48, having seen McClure and Dertinger in the jail several times.

They may have been in the jail but those visits are staged in advance. No county exec has had the nuts to take on that sleazy part of county government with any desire to right the wrongs. And the judges are useless tools who continue to feed the monster and claim they are tough on crime. Jail a cash cow of the courts and the county. Skimming the phone calls for profits and the company store commissary scam. Ya better hope they never get their hooks in you cause the pain continues forever.

I always wondered, the jail gets a cut of that money / scam but where does it go?

I can respond on the last few comments. With inmate phone calls, commissary and new I pads it goes into inmate accounts. It saves the county on welfare items such as soap, deodorant shoes etc. Believe it or not most inmates after release dont pay their outstanding debts (room and board) jails are not set up to make money.
