Last last week, the sentencing for six Fed Ed associates was still scheduled for late January and early February. But according to several news sources, the date has been pushed back to May. What does this mean?
It means Fed Ed is in serious trouble. If the feds had decided to drop their investigation, as some have contended, there would be no reason for these continuances. The delay means that the investigation is very much alive, and that those Defendants will be expected to testify against Allentown Mayor Edwin Pawlowski.

Show us the indictments. If or when those are issued, then we'll see what happens. Also, none of these other individuals have requested a jury trial. They all reached out of court settlements.
Time will tell I suppose.
What one "knows" versus what one can "prove" are two vastly different things. I would think the latter seems to be the problem in this lengthy investigation.
Soon this will be over and we can focus on the Trump disaster.
This is a sign that the investigation is still ongoing and the big six will be testifying against him. There is no other conclusion in this matter. For his very blind supporters who still carry the cross for him, give him more money; he will need it!
The ship is taking on water day by day.
When it starts to sink the beaten down rats
and intimidated serfs will sing to the heavens above.
The most sorid stories are waiting to be told.
Hold onto your hat.
In the conversations I've had with FedEd, he's OK with the whole prison sex scene. Said he's been practicing as of late.
I will admit to be totally ignorant of the Federal criminal justice system. Can the mayor work out the arrangements of His guilty plea w/o a formal indictment ? I am using the sentence of John Karoly as a benchmark to speculate on Mr. Pawloski's prison term.
@9:46 Right now, the FBI is conducting an investigation. Once the FBI completes its investigation of Ed, they meet with the U.S. Attorney and present the evidence they found to him. At that point, the U.S. Attorney reviews what the FBI has found and if - if - in the view of the U.S. Attorney there is enough evidences to convict Ed on criminal charges, he goes to a Federal Judge with a list of criminal charges to obtain formalized written charges laws he suspects Ed may have broken. The Federal Judge then takes this list of charges (known as indictments) and tells the U.S. Marshall to serve them to Ed as formal criminal charges against him. These Ed would give to his attorney who represents him who would discuss them with the Federal Attorney and that is when a deal is made to work out what he would plead guilty to. Or Ed could deny everything and plead not guilty and a trial is held.
Right now, all that is publicly known is that the FBI is conducting an investigation. Period. No one knows whom is being investigated so we have a long way to go to come to any conclusions about anything in all of this.
@9:49 I forgot to state that the Federal Judge, after reviewing what the U.S. Attorney presents to him has to be convinced also there is reasonable evidence to believe that Ed MAY have committed the crimes the U.S. Attorney believes the FBI evidence shows, then indictments are issued, citing specifics of what laws were suspected to be broken. The judge may decide that the evidence is insufficient and may not charge Ed with anything.
As I said, we're a long way from the end of all this.
You have no idea what you are talking about, which is no doubt why you are anonymous. I happen to be a former federal prosecutor. The FBI, before they even start a political corruption investigation, get approval from the US Att'y. He is intimately involved as a Grand Jury is convened to subpoena records and get witnesses on record. Once there is enough evidence to seek an indictment, the Grand Jury may indict or the target v=can be brought in and offered a plea. That has happened thus far with six different targets. They have all agreed to cooperate against Fed Ed. The federal judge has no say at this juncture. Fed Ed has no doubt been offered a plea and has no doubt turned it down. The feds will indict him. They are dotting their i's and crossing their t's. But he is done. He might be acquitted after a trial, but he will be charged, and sooner rather than later.
Thanks for all the information on the Federal investigation occurring in Allentown. After reading all these statements it still appears to Me this is taking a long time. I am looking to read more leaks in this case to be published in The Morning Call.
How soon will Fed Ed's next campaign finance report be available? I'm curious about how well his mayoral fundraising is going. He's recently delivered some BS line about using social media vs. traditional campaigning to paper over his real objective: raising legal defense funds.
Will have in early Feb. Due end of month.
What are the chances, if any, of the FBI dropping their case against Pawlowski? And, if they did, wouldn't all the people who already pled guilty feel a wee bit silly if the Feds got them to plead guilty and to get a lighter sentence if/when they would testify against Pawlowski, if they do drop their care?
-just curious
You answer your own hypothetical.
We need a mayor who is from here. Not some crook from Chicago who thinks he's Mayor Dayley. Where is Roy Afflerbach ? Is he working?
Bernie 12:11,
The answer is there is one comming and that will not be a bedbug breeding developmentalistZ that is the criminally corrupted enterpriZe locally, and has nothing to do with the triboro's nue nue nue yet same old theft of services rendered within the HOLE of the triboro and will have nothing to do with it! Infact said Shitstew allocations will be making it to the deserving and not the callaboration between the advertisementalistZ and developmentalistZ, but going to thre Reel alocation destinations with no diversions whatsoever promptly?
REpublican redd
humanist by design
More hypothetical...if the feds drop their investigation against Pawlowski, can those that already pled guilty change their plea? And, if so, can/will 'Fed Ed' ever forgive them?
More hyperboilish hype by the hypeZ, OOO itZ true and the collective criminallity makeZ for well above the boilish one3 itself?
What are the chances of the First Lady of Allentown getting a charge or two?
Has Mic Fleck accepted a plea arrangement?
Unless Ed is convicted of something, he's going to win another term as mayor. The more people that enter the Democratic Primary, the more divided the vote will be. Ed could win with 15% of the vote and be re-elected again.
So come on, all the Pawlowski haters. The more the better. Run for office, as the voters already know Ed, and name recognition matters a lot when it comes to looking at a dozen names on the ballot to vote for.
"Has Mic Fleck accepted a plea arrangement?"
He pleaded guilty. Where have you been?
Lock em up!!!!
"What are the chances of the First Lady of Allentown getting a charge or two?"
I have seen nothing implicating her in criminal activity. If the feds have evidence, she's got problems. i do know she had her own lawyer. Though she's an incredibly nasty person, and has actually asked people to boycott this blog, I'd feel bad to see her prosecuted. If it were a crime to be a jerk, I'd be in the electric chair.
Feds next investigation should be Northampton County's Administration.
I always thought it was a tacky idea to make Ms.Pawloski Ed's senate campaign treasurer
Anyone but Sam "Giggles and Jiggles" Bennett for next Mayor.
Jesus saves.
Am I totally naive about the political process or is the mayor announcing a re-election bid with the intent of fundraising to build up the account balance for the benefit of paying ongoing legal fees. He can't seriously believe he could win - does he?
Why can't FedEd buy a new suit and tie? He's been wearing that blue suit with light blue tie almost every day the last 8 years!
"If it were a crime to be a jerk, I'd be in the electric chair."
No truer words ever written.
The Mayor has not been charged with any crime. Despite this blog braying on about it for years, he is still Mayor. he will be re-elected and never go to jail. O'Hare has more chance of going to jail than Mayor Pawlowski. The Mayor has revitalized a city, O'Hare attacks and maims reputations.
Time's have changed but one thing that still stands is the American Flag and the one below print Don't Tread on Me!
