Makaeya Update

I told you about pretty little Makaeya Lynn Wheeler yesterday. She has MLD, a rare disease that attacks the nervous system. muscles and organs. It will worsen over time. There is no cure. Eventually, this will end her life.

A bone marrow or stem cell implantation can extend her life and give it some quality. With the time bought, perhaps a cure can be found.

I've just been told there is a bone marrow drive being held today (Friday) at Lafayette College Kirby Field House from 11-1 and 4-7. It's just a simple cheek swab to see if you are a match for Makaeya.

Sorry for the short notice.

Damn! I'll never make it to PA in time. Plus I don't have liberty to travel this weekend.

Let me know if they do this again.

Hopefully, they will find a match soon. Peace, ~~Alex+

They are having another one on May 8th at the Easton Community Center. Not sure of the time yet.

Where's the Easton Community Center? I have never heard of it before. Is that the place where the senior citizens gather for lunch in the northwest quadrant of The Circle?

I am not sure of where it is either. As soon as I get more details, I'll post here.

The Easton Community Center is the former St. Anthony's Youth Center.
