NorCo Has Received 25,000 Mail-in Ballot Applications

On Monday, I told you that you can still register to vote, if you do so by May 18. I also told you that you have until May 26 to apply for a mail-in ballot. You then have until Election Day (June 2) to make sure it is in the hands of elections officials. I also urged you to vote by mail. I could scare you and say it's because of Covid-19, but the real reason is that I'm a very lazy election judge. It's going to be a long day, and I want to be able to take several naps.

I'm lazy, but the elections office has been overwhelmed. Registrar Amy Cozze reports that her office has been hit with 25,000 applications for mail-in ballots thus far. That's quite a jump from March 19, when she had 5,700 applications. That was already a record. Her office is keeping up. She's mailed out 20,000 ballots. That includes a ballot sent to me. I've voted.

Starting May 11, the courthouse will be open to the public in case you need to return your ballot and don't mind having a mask and allowing someone to check your temperature on the way in. Hopefully, the courthouse will be open to the public for all purposes starting that day.

I mailed mine in yesterday. I am glad this method is available in PA now. It was from your suggestion back in early March (?) that I applied. PS, a follow up answer to my question to you a while back re the delegates to the Dem convention: if Sanders does not get 15% of the vote in the district, then Biden would still get all 7 delegates, with the state party selecting the other 2 (since on the ballot there are 7 committed to Sanders but only 5 committed to Biden).

We will see ow political appointee Cozze handles this job. So far you have botching but excuses for her.

I think we can all agree that we hope she handles her job better than you handled this comment..

I don't think we should go this route. If you take a look at all the cars at Home Depot, Lowe's, grocery stores, etc., I can't figure out why need for mail in ballot. Maybe if you are very high risk. Lots of senior citizens are out shopping. They sure aren't staying home. Polls can be made safe. Show up and show your ID. I know showing an ID somehow frightens people. And there is always that little old lady somewhere that does not have ID. Cut me a break. Most little old ladies have IDs for the casinos, doctors, hospitals, and government giveaways. This little old lady will wear her mask and have hand sanitizer ready to proudly cast my vote. Oh yeah, and I am a Democrat. Of course we have to contend with the recent problems with new machines, programming errors and, gosh, we forgot some in the trunk of someone's car. Ever see the pictures of people in war torn countries risking their lives to vote? Give me a break. If you can pick up your booze and cigarettes, you can go vote.

Ovem 12:31,
I found 6 committed to Biden. Left my 7th choice blank. Dropped mine in the mailbox on Saturday night before I knew I didn't have to put a stamp on it.

This post has nothing to do with ID, so give us all a break and STFU.

Ovem, From what I've gathered, the reason there are seven Sanders delegates and five Biden delegate candidates is our party boss. He is far left and steers away from moderate or conservative Dems.

Bernie who? He's so Harold Stassen ago. Let's get serious and move on.

Just another voter fraud anticipation of the lefts sleepy Joe as well as all the local criminal cohorts of that party.

To help other voters on either ballot ( D or R ), how does one determine which candidate delegates are supporting?

So, 25,000 requests for mail-in ballots have been received. Then, 20,000 ballots have been mailed back to those who requested a ballot. What can we conclude from this report?

20% of all ballot requests were deemed not eligible to receive a ballot to later submit. Assuming the voter roll books are totally up-to-date and we’re used to cull the ineligible requests.

I would hope that some authentication of requesters and then mail backs are done somehow ,the DNA on the stamp is costly.

That analogy is like putting 2 and 2 together to come up with 5. It is complete nonsense. The fact that 25k applications are in and that 20k ballots have been sent means that 5k ballots are being prepared for mailing. Geez.

You need your driver license # or PennDOT ID.

Well, OK. In other words, every application received has been determined valid. That’s a good batting average!

Thanks Bernie, the public gets the word here .

So their software will check name , real or unreal PennDot number I write in on application ?

Unless counting of votes has already started, we should expect winners/losers to be announced 2-3 weeks after Election Day. Better hold on to all those mail-in ballots as challenges will be coming!

Sadly, as a registered Independent, I don't have to worry about mail in ballots until November.

10:04 - neither do I. My Registration says ‘No Party.’ Using increased mail-in ballots this Primary will serve as a reliable test run. Remember, the number of votes cast will be even greater in November. I just don’t think statewide mailing-in voting is ‘reading for prime time’ in our state.

Voted and mailed the other day. Hope those mail in numbers keep rising! Sanders has more delegates on the ballot because he had a better organization then Biden. Unfortunately I'll have to hold my nose and vote for Uncle Joe in November. Any enthusiasm in November is coming from NO MORE TRUMP voters. Do NOT mistake it for Biden fever.

Notifications and delivery of ballots at my house was uneventful and prompt. Hope they're ready to count as well as they got them out.

I hope the voter roll books used to verify are much more accurate than several other states.

I sent my ballot back 5 days ago. This is the way to do it. No driving out of the way, no standing in line, no expensive voting machines, etc etc.

More voter fraud a coming ! People are just downright lazy. Need to go back to the machines we had 20 years ago.
