Throughout the week, people have been saluting three Deputy Prothonataries, who are leaving Northampton County, and taking their vast institutional knowledge with them. Though not one of them wants to leave, they feel they have no choice. Roseann, Marie and Doris (I won't use their last names) are names you'll never see in a newspaper, except for the PFAs they occasionally have to file against me. But these are the people who have made Northampton County work over the decades. They show the same respect to everyone.
Yesterday, there was a small lunch party inside the Civil Division for these departing workers. Everyone was welcome. And a lot of people came. Judge Craig Dally, above, is posing with Roseann and Marie. President Judge Stephen Baratta, Judge Michael Koury and Judge Emil Giordano also paid their respects. So did District Attorney John Morganelli.
One person who did not show his face is Executive John Brown. So far as I know, he's never even been in the office.
So much for calling the employee the most valuable asset.

As a former employee, I have nothing but the highest praise for these ladies (and in Roseann's case, I use the term lady loosely). Despite the stress in this office, these employees were always friendly and you could get a laugh out of them. Norco is not only losing great employees, but it is losing great people. Good luck.
The same thing in Human Services. None of them want to leave. All of them feel they have no other option.

Bored is trying to down play the loss of good talent that pretty much had to be laid at John Brown's doorstep. You will crate a name like "Bored" and throw in a "YAWN" to try to create the impression the message is of no import. Interestingly, these people don't say who they are or what their agenda is.

Apparently this is typical for Mr. Brown not having the respect for county workers!
Up at Gracedale when the longevity reception was. No body from the courthouse had the respect to show there faces!
Not Mr. Brown or the head of HR!
The people that get recognized for 15,20,25,30 and 35 years of service!
This to me is inexcusable!

The exodus has begun. In DHS the Director of DP has left. In CYF this at least two supervisors (both have been there for over 30), and one department has its entire staff (5 workers) leaving (out of those 2 have been there for 30+ years, and the others for well over 10).
All of these workers were not ready to leave and are valuable assets to Norco. If JB was half the leader he claimed to be, he could have gradually made changes to the compensation package or made those changes effective for new hires. He failed to create any buy in for any type of change because of the blatant hypocrisy displayed when you treat a select few better than the other employees, hire consultants that no other administration has ever needed, or fill positions that have been vacant for years you’re your friends. We all know he just wanted to slash and burn in an attempt to say “I was able to cut the budget and did not raise taxes”. This would have been his great campaign speech. He still plans on doing this, since he is going to get Council to be the scapegoat and do the responsible thing and raise taxes. His management style has only served to create the level of fear with staff and no PR firm will be able to put a good spin on all the mistakes he has made thus far.
