Hanover Tp Declares Snow Emergency

From HANOVER TOWNSHIP - NORTHAMPTON COUNTY

Hanover Township announces a Snow Emergency effective at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 through 11:59 a.m. on Thursday, November 27, 2014.

Hanover Township has found it necessary to declare a "Snow Emergency" due to the potential for a significant snow event starting Wednesday morning into Thursday morning.

Parking on all Township streets is prohibited and vehicles may be ticketed ($50.00 fine.) Section 172-29 of the Codified Ordinance reads, "Whenever a snow emergency has been declared it shall be unlawful for any vehicle to be abandoned or parked on anyt public highway/street".

Again, the Township has declared a Snow Emergency as a result of an impending storm with significant accumulation forecasted. The combination of snow and leaves presents a danger to the Township's snow operations.

Tickets can be issued once the Snow Emergency goes into effect and in some instances prior to the snow actually starting to fall or snow plowing operations commencing.

Don't you live in Nazareth? Nazareth posted a snow emergency also along with many other municipalities. Why just post Hanover?

I was amazed that Hanover Public Work's Department picked up my leaves Saturday and were back earlier tonight. Great staff! Thanks.

10:48, Had Nazareth sent me its snow emergency, I would have posted it. Most municipalities try harder than Nazareth to be transparent.

Having lived in Nazareth for twenty years and Bushkill Township for the last twenty years I can state that both highway departments are great with snow removal.

Being transparent is one thing. Intentionally sending you information to get good blog is something else. Finnegan is consistently snoozed on this blog for a reason. The guy isn't dumb to kiss your ass.

HT is one of my assigned townships so i get the same information that any resident gets. It happens to be the best-run township I've seen. Jay has a great team in place, including Vince Milite and Ryan Kish, as well as a very collegial board. I will gladly post any information that any township wants out there. Unfortunately, I am unable to keep people as informed as I would like, but i try.
