Wolf: Covid-19 Risk "Moderate" in LV

According to Governor Tom Wolf, the chances of contracting Covid-19 are "moderate" here in the Lehigh Valley. Lehigh and Northampton are lumped in with 45 other counties.

The other counties considered a moderate risk are Adams, Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Berks, Blair, Bucks, Butler, Cambria, Chester, Clearfield, Clinton, Crawford, Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Erie, Fayette, Franklin, Huntingdon, Indiana, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Lawrence, Lebanon, Luzerne, Lycoming, Mercer, Mifflin, Monroe, Montgomery, Montour, Northumberland, Philadelphia, Schuylkill, Snyder and Somerset.

Wolf has placed these 19 counties in the "low" risk category: Bedford, Bradford, Cameron, Carbon, Clarion, Elk, Forest, Fulton, Greene, Jefferson, Juniata, McKean, Perry, Pike, Potter, Sullivan, Tioga, Venango, Warren AND Wyoming.

The chances of contracting Covid-19 are considered "substantial" only in Centre and Columbia Counties.

It is unclear what metrics Wolf used to arrive at these conclusions.

Using the state's own data, for the 7-day period ending September 3 (the latest 7-day period for the scary "Early Warning" dashboard), York County reported 398 new cases out of 3,102 tests for a positivity rate of 12.3%. For the same 7-day period, NorCo had 49 new cases out of 2,361 tests for a positivity rate of 2.08%.

York has 8 times as many new cases and 4 times the positivity rate of NorCo, but York and NorCo are both "moderate"?

York is Wolf's home county.

Wolf has released data on where people are contracting Covid-19, suggesting it might be at a restaurant. But there are problems with that data. Only 44% of those questioned answered whether they had even been to a business establishment. He goes on to conclude that businesses are a cause of community transmission, but I would be a bit more concerned about the lack of response to some important questions.

This entire Covid event has been used as a political scam ever since it made its way to our shores. The numbers being reported have been unable to verify by any legitimate factors. Everything has been based on high estimates to instill panic and confusion, to disrupt the lives of Americans in order to blame their unhappiness on President Trump.

Our own Center for Disease Control recently changed its records to indicate only 6% of all deaths previously linked to Covid were solely due to Covid and no other co-morbidity. That’s about 7000 Covid deaths, not 180,000 as we were led to believe.

Governor Wolf has been tied to the hip of the New York and New Jersey Governors in order to prolong the crisis and exhibit their control over citizens. But, the jig is up. Problem is, our state has been caught unprepared to deal with the level of tyranny from a Governor who goes rogue. We’re stuck with this Wolf character and the Legislators of his political party who will not brake ranks to guard Pennsylvania citizens.

Yes, elections DO have consequences.

Where are all the "science" a-holes? Remember when we took draconian measures to "flatten the curve?" Remember when the "curve" was two very specific types of hospital beds (i.e. ER and ICU)? Can we discuss the original goal of flattening the curve? Was there ever a curve? Is it flat? Are hospitals overwhelmed? I'd like a Wolf toady to discuss management of "the curve."

In the meantime, we play along and pretend that the hilariously shifty numbers are legitimate and that men in dresses are really women. And not a single word of condemnation from area Democrats regarding the Gracedale holocaust. It's all about the old folks for these NorCo Ds until their god in Harrisburg starts executing them without trial, and without family present. Then he shoves the dead out the door to limited funerals or none at all while he runs out to a huge protest with dress guy. That's a rare level of unadulterated evil, wouldn't you say? Lamont said NOTHING. He partied and watched Netflix and banned kids from sliding boards while his county's elderly died horrible lonely deaths. Nice work. It's no wonder he doesn't trust voters. I'm certain that most hate every fiber of his miserable being, at this point.

LehighValleyLive.com, sandwiched in between Dear Abby, begging for subscriptions, and infomercial news stories, has supported wholeheartedly each and every Wolf Covid-19 Calamity Catastrophe created to exploit his power over the plebes. Now, in a stroke of genius, just in time for the most important election in my 72 years of existence, LVL has unveiled a new anti Trump hoax entitled "Swing County, Swing State". In collaboration (or should I say, in collusion) with Google, their parent Advance Publications, and slave labor from Liberal Colleges they call student interns. Included in their project is a 7 page form that you MUST sign in to with an email address in order to be included ( or receive campaign emails. I'm already getting Biden emails now). But they promise you will remain anonymous. Whew! That's a relief!

Agreed. Just like bringing murder charges against somebody when the victim of a gunshot wound strokes out from a blood clot after being in the ICU for a year. A blood clot is not a bullet wound.
The old and weak were going to die anyway. Only Libtard doctors blame the virus.

Moderate to Zero not counting the deaths that were counted as covid butt in reality it was just the sight of wolf's toady in a dress. Speaking of which how in the blue hell are we going to take medical advice from someone that suffers from a serious mental illness and shouldn't this thing be locked away in Norristown State hospital for the criminally insane because of this Treason committed against Pennsylvania's?
Please Bernie start a lock her up Campaign for it on your blogg!

The science and the lock down did work, (eventually) in PA, NJ & NY, but it was overly reactive and the March/April timeframe was sadly far too late for this country to hit the brakes on COVID. The toothpaste was out of the tube at that point, and the way this country is, with people free to cross state borders and travel as they please, the spread from those initial hot spots was inevitable.

Add in the hodge podge of governors and political parties trying to score points off each other, we had no cohesive or uniform response and we collectively shit the bed in our attempt to minimize it.

6:09AM calling it a scam because it hurts the reelection chances of his favorite politician is a sad and pathetic representation of who we are as a nation right now.

Since the world has gone nuts I just have to say this again. If we as a nation were told we are all potentially going to die from this pandemic can you imagine the hysteria. Imagine the looting and acts of craziness we would have seen. I want a leader who will calm us like on 9/11. I don't want my leader causing panic. A leader never does in the face of true threat. They are there to make a plan and implement it while maintaining calm. That's what was done. I for one am grateful.

"That’s about 7000 Covid deaths, not 180,000"
So your claiming covid had nothing to do with the deaths of over 170 thousand?
Laughable if not so tragic.
Comrade trump is on tape in Feb.saying it would be very bad yet he downplayed the severity of covid.
Had trump related the severity of covid at the beginning a large number of folks would still be alive.
trump has blood on his hands.
Wolf saved lives with his actions on covid.

" not a single word of condemnation from area Democrats regarding the Gracedale holocaust."
The CDC recommendation was to send stable covid patients back to their nursing home.
Wolf followed that guidance.
objections to that policy did not occur until after the peak rate started to fall.
Check the date when the CDC made their recommendation.
if you want to throw stones at anyone try the CDC.

The Wolf administration has been nothing but a black hole. This guy was the transparency guv.

I think that you raving COVID skeptics should attend a Trump rally and then get back to us just before they're about to put in the ventilator tube.

Too bad some of he early commenters didn't wait for Trumps audio tape with Woodward released later today. Maybe delete their comments and give the trump whisperers a do over .

Will anyone in the media ask "What ever happened to Red/Yellow/Green?" If certain counties are high risk, then put the counties in the yellow or red. Let lower risk counties be able to operate at the 50% capacity under the green label. Not sure what is preventing anyone from asking, or if it has been asked... for Governor Wolf to provide a reasonable response.

Bernie, I don't know what numbers you are using, but they don't match what is on the article you linked or the PA covid dashboard, which both have York at 7.9% and NorCo at 1.7% PCR positivity over the week ending 9/3. It seems the difference between moderate and severe risk might be incidence rate per capita. Columbia and Centre are the only 2 counties with more than 100 cases per 100k people (Adams is next closest with 95.3).

The numbers used were for the latest 7-day period.
