Pinsley, the People's Controller, Wants UN Observers at Election

Lehigh County's Mark Pinsley, who calls himself the People's Controller, is at it again. In addition to wanting to impose a sales and earned income tax on Lehigh County's working poor, he now wants UN observers to monitor the November 3 election. He's fired off a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stating they are necessary. He knows this because he was an Army reservist. ... And he has a Master's degree.

Wha?

In a bizarre explanation on Facebook, he states the UN is a "trusted ally to the US since WWII, 75 years ago." England is an ally. France is an ally. The UN is an international organization in which the United States is a member nation, not an ally.

Donald Trump has been taken to task, and rightly so, for exaggerating the danger of mail-in voting. Pinsley is just as bad. His suggestion undermines public confidence in the integrity of our elections.

One of the biggest defenders of this proposal on Pinsley's Facebook page is Joshua Siegel, who happens to work for him.

Siegel wants to be Allentown Mayor and Pinsley wants to be Lehigh County Exec. They are the Laurel and Hardy of the Lehigh Valley.

If either of them bothered to read the Elections Code, something they obviously failed to do, they'd know that each political party can designate up to three poll watchers at each precinct. They'd know that each candidate can name two watchers per polling place. They are allowed inside the polling place and can approach within 10' of the polling table. They can challenge voters. But, and this is an important but, they must be residents of the county they are watching. Not Belgium. Moreover, a judge is always on standby for problems that might arise when the polls are open.

We got this.

Pinsley's suggestion is both uninformed and irresponsible.

Having said that, I think we should ask Wakanda.

Hope so as you might get this

""Citizens coming into and leaving the building did have to go by them," Gary Scott, the general registrar of Fairfax County, said in a statement to The New York Times. "Those voters who were in line outside of the building were moved inside and we continued operations. Some voters, and elections staff, did feel intimidated by the crowd and we did provide escorts past the group. One of the escorts was the county executive."
The RNC consent decree has expired so they will be playing the voter intimidation game again

No need - its not going to be remotely close for Trump to even challenge the results. Dark days right now for Team Trump. His former campaign manager just attempted suicide last night and is currently hospitalized. Oh, and his tax returns are out - surprised really that they weren't leaked before this. Shockingly, Trump has paid little to no taxes over the past 5 years, and is up to his ears in debt. Macho Hero Business Slayer is revealed to be the pathetic buffoon we all thought he was.

Can't wait for all of the excuses and explanations to spin from his sycophants...

Before being so critical you should read the article that he references https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2020/11/what-if-trump-refuses-concede/616424/

It talks about how PA is one of the targets. And it uses pa election law against us.

10:35, That's no justification for your irresponsible and actually illegal suggestion.

Frankly, having UN observers is not a crazy idea. They can't actually do anything but document wrongdoing, anyway. One of the major concerns with this election is whether Trump will accept the result if he appears to lead on election night, but mail-in ballots counted in the following days show that Biden actually won. He has basically said at this point that he will try to invalidate mail-in ballots counted after election day, and the sheer number of Trump-appointed federal judges and modifications to absentee-voting systems as a result of the pandemic mean it is possible that he may be successful in some cases.

Frankly, it IS a cRaZy idea, also likely illegal. Trump’s refusal to go gently into the good night is something over which UN observers would have no control.

My elderly neighbor sold his house in Somerset County, NJ in 2009. He moved to the Nazareth area and has been voting here ever since. He got a ballot in the mail from Somerset County the other day. He called the County Clerks office and they said he never took himself off the voter rolls. He said yes but your mailing this ballot to another state. They said well we have students and others who live out of state temporarily but vote in NJ. Apparently 11 years is temporary in New Jerseys mind LOL! Apparently if you have ever lived in NJ and voted in NJ and they have your forwarding address you get a ballot. So how many people will be voting twice?
