Capozzolo Up By One in Bangor

Joe Capozzolo was reported to be down one vote last night in his quest for another term as Bangor Mayor, an office in which he has served before. But according to the elections office unofficial results, he's now one vote ahead, leading Republican Robert Rhodes 216-215. There are also 151 write-in votes to be tabulated.

There hasn't been a tighter race in Bangor since Anita Caracio lost her reelection to Borough Council in 1995 by one vote.

Truly a lesson for anyone who thinks that their vote doesn't matter.

I know this because I was the guy that won that election by one vote. ;)

Have to disagree with Kevin. In the 2009 primary, John Rigione and Andy Szoke tied for mayor. Rigione won with a drawing of numbers from a hat. He then went on to lose to executive-elect John Brown.
