But What About Chapman Borough?

Anyone who wants to run for anything knows that you better get on the good side of powerful Chapman Borough. Three of the six Democrats who voted went to Callahan, ensuring his victory county-wide.

As Chapman goes, so goes the world.

Dixville Notch hasn't a thing on the noble bell weather of Chapman - small, but mighty.

I am sure it was in the millions.

What about Bangor Boro? How did the 2 Johns do in the town of his opponent? I heard Callahan had more votes than Brown.

I'll check that out. I just finished the tally in Bethlehem, where anonymous commenters said Callahan would lose.

Chapman Borough.....the new County seat, for sure.

This is another case of mismanagement by the county government. How many workers did we have at that polling place? One machine operator, One constable, one judge of elections, and we paid the rent for the polling place as well as a crew to deliver and later pick up the voting machine. Why can't you combine a small place like this?. Such a waste.

and all for six voters.

You apparently lack the proper respect for mighty Chapman Borough.

god bless those 6 voters, atleast they are Americans and did their voting. Shame on all the other registered voters who did not particpate

Total turnout in CHapman was 26 (4 absentee)
Republicans 16 26.42%
Democrats 8 19.23%
That beats the county average for turn out

You cannot combine the Chapman Polls with others, we have our own elected officials, we need to hav our wn ballot.

Personnel wise there is no special needs Chapman means just one extra voting machine on a whole truck.

Chapman is small town America, and that is something special. A great place to live.

I agree with Dottie to a certain point. Chapman is a nice town. It should be a nice village within a larger municipality. Penn has close to 3000 municipalities! We should combine many of the smaller towns into others. These small towns are a drain on revenues, with seperate depts., and other costly entites. Do we need these towns with a hundres or a couple hundres residents? I dont think things will change, but they should.

With the way Bethlehem and Easton have been run (murder, mayhem, high taxes, lies about tax cuts, police corruption, fees, fees, fees), Chapman would do well to stay as far away from the county sewers as possible. Chapman is a nice place to visit. But don't. Leave the place alone and continue to enjoy your own paradises.

The charter of Chapman Borough predates those municipalities around us. We are a great place to live becasue we are not absorbed into larger municialiies. Our taxes, crime rate and pullution levels are all low and our quaality of life and personal freeedoms are high. That is a rarity and something other people are seeking. Why would we give that up? It is our topwn and we like it just the way it is.
