Allentown Has 642 Blighted Properties

Hey, they don't call it the "City Without Limits" for nothing. During a Public Safety Committee meeting of Allentown City Council last night, it was revealed that there are 642 blighted properties. Council member Jeanette Eichenwald intends to discuss this problem in a Committee of the Whole at an as yet undetermined date.

I'm sure we will here all about blight when Sal runs for county exec and that's all his opponent talks about! Can't wait!

How many votes does Fleck get from the 642 Blighted properties for the Pawlowsi Slate on election day.

I see Air Products increased their funding for housing rehabs. Where are all the other entities in helping solve the blighted housing problem? Government can't do enough alone to clean up housing.

Maybe they can form a new committee to study this issue and then make recommendations. That should fix the problem.

anon7:07,

That's right, the people we elect to run and manage our cities and municipalities can't possibly be expected to do the job without help from the private sector.
Can't wait for government run health care.

There is also the ones that public officials allowed to sell with this presale inspection ordanance that should have the brute orange stickers on them. Too the homes that have been cut up into apartments and the owners are collecting federal housing dollars for that have been passed by public officials, and many many of them should also be decorated with the orange stickers.
This to is like following the leader/king in Allentown as pay to play is a rule even at the risk of life to the public.
