Patient First Neighborhood Medical Center Coming to Hanover Tp

Patient First Neighborhood Medical Center, a primary and urgent care facility open 365-days per year, is coming to Hanover Township. Facilities Manager Dean Andrews presented Supervisors, at their February 14 meeting, with details for a 8,000 sq. ft, one-story building at the busy intersection of Schoenersville and Jacksonville Roads. Supervisors and members of the public expressed concerns about traffic patterns, visibility, the building design and the strain another urgent care facility could place on the Township's ambulance corps. Reading based engineer Scott Miller, who thanked everyone for their suggestions, will now prepare plans for approval from the Planning Commission.

Virginia-based Patient First has 38 locations, and is expanding into Pennsylvania.

Supervisors also heard complaints from Jacksonville Road resident Zoltan Takacs about five deer who frequent his property. "I'm 76 years old and don't want to get Lyme disease," Takacs worried. He also complained about raccoons, skunks and other "rodents" in a nearby private drive, but "I'm not worried about the little guys." Noting that deer are protected by state law,Township Manager Jay Finnigan advised Takacs, "You can't relocate deer."

Supervisor Steve Salvesen told Takacs, "I tried to take care of one of them. He bounced off my car on Jacksonville Road and then ran off. It only cost me $2,800."

Throughout the meeting, Supervisor Jack Nagle was trying to rush the agenda before revealing he had a date for Valentine's Day. "Two, actually," he bragged.

"Yeah, your birth date and your death date," wisecracked Public Works Director Vince Milite.

Supervisors' next meeting is scheduled Thursday, February 28, 7 PM, at the Township building, located at 3630 Jacksonville Road.
