Congressional Wannabe Bill Hall To Discuss Health Care Crisis

Bill Hall, candidate for the Lehigh Valley's Democratic nomination to Congress, has scheduled a news conference for Thursday, Noon, at the Lehigh County government center, to discuss our growing health care crisis. He believes that is symptomatic of a bigger problem - broken government.

He has some proposals to combat the problem, including a cap on pain and suffering awards and allowing citizens to import prescription drugs from Canada. He advocates allowing citizens and small businesses to band together for discounted rates, and would stop insurers from charging exorbitant rates to those with pre-existing conditions. He is also proposing tax breaks to families who care for loved ones at home instead of at nursing homes.

You can contact Bill at BillHallforCongress@yahoo.com.

First off, Bill, if you are serious about running for Congress, you need something other than a Yahoo email address. C'mon man!

Second, the solution is to cap pain and suffering claims? Please.

It's a shame that our social status in society can now be defined by our e-mail provider.

AJ,

Very well said. There's a tad of elitism in Hayshaker's little snark. 'Taint nothing wrong with a grass roots campaign, if it's done right.

I suspect the real problem is that Bill Hall is a tad too conservative for Hayshaker, although he can speak for himself. My approach to our healthcare crisis would probably be radically different. I don't think those pain and suffering awards are the problem, and I'm ready for a copmpletely new single payer health care system. But I'd like to hear what Bill has to say.

The government that gave us the IRS, the US Postal Service, the Hurricane Katrina response, and - their crowning jewel of health care administration - the Veterans Administration, is the last place I'd turn to manage anything - let alone health care.

I love to complain about the current system too, but I've seen my government at work and know it's the last place to go for efficiency and effectiveness. Watch what you ask for.

Actually, the U.S. Postal Service is a very effective operation. $.40 and you can send something anywhere and within a very favorable margin of error it will get there. The IRS runs well, it's just that most of us including myself do not like or trust it, due to what it does and it's power.
Unless your a raving maniac like John Brinson, you must realize our Health Care system is fine if you are a millionaire, after that it is not so good. Insurance companies and Hospitals work to enhance prices and deny claims.
Please save the Private Sector is the answer to all things and Governement is evil speak for Ron Paul rallys and Ron Regan revivals.

This seems like The Morning Call:

Bernie O' hare wannabe just like The Morning Call.

oh oh little tommy wants to be a nurse to help people. hahhaahha

Geee, Bernie your no different than the people you complained of yesterday just a little sharper at the game.

A domain name and a proper online presence is not an outlandish thing to presume a serious candidate would secure. Is it elitist? Hardly. I presume Mr. Hall has no website either? Is that grassroots or is that imbecilic. Don't waste my time unless you are serious.

I'm not really sure how that ties in with "social status." Hosting services are cheap. Its like showing up to a job interview with shorts and t-shirt. Its speaks to preparedness and presentation.

Anon 7:57,

Bill Hall may be a great guy but he's a wannabe. I often refer to candidates in that fashion, and don't consider it disparaging.

Anon 7:13 AM,
I find it offensive and derogatorily.

It's not what you print. It's how I read it and what I believe; how others, will interpret what you print.

Thanks for allowing me to vent Bernie.

Many local politicians have made fortunes at the peoples expense on little framing of words like that.

Anon 6:02,

If I wanted to be derogatory, I'd be snarking Bill's ideas. But I'm very pleased he's running and told him I'd support him against Bennett. But I always refer to cnadidates as wannabes in my headlines. It's not derogatory - it's just informal.
