SBA Establishes Loan Outreach Center For July Flash Flood Victims

From Northampton CountyThe U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) declared Northampton County a disaster area following the flash flooding and severe storms that took place on Saturday, July 15, and Sunday, July 16, 2023. The SBA opened a Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) to assist those affected at Lower Mt. Bethel Township Centerfield Building (6984 S. Delaware Dr. Bangor, PA 18013).


The Center opened on Wednesday, Oct. 11, and will close permanently on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 4 p.m. SBA Customer Service Representatives are at the Center to answer questions about the disaster loan program, check an application’s status, upload documents, and assist with reconsideration requests.


The hours of operation are as follows:

  • Wednesday, October 11 – 11am until 6pm
  • Thursday, October 12 – 9am until 6pm
  • Friday, October 13 – 9am until 6pm
  • Monday, October 16 – 9am until 6pm
  • Tuesday, October 17 – 9am until 6pm
  • Wednesday, October 18 – 9am until 6pm
  • Thursday, October 19 – 9am until 6pm
  • Friday, Oct. 20 – 9am until 6pm
  • Saturday, Oct. 21 – 10am until 2pm
  • Monday, October 23 – 9am until 6pm
  • Tuesday, October 24 – 9am until 6pm
  • Wednesday, Oct. 25 – 9am until 6pm
  • DLOC will be CLOSED the following dates: Oct. 14; Oct. 15 & Oct. 22

 

The SBA is offering the following Disaster Loans to eligible businesses, homeowners, and renters who qualify for recovery assistance:


  • Business Physical Disaster Loans – Loans to businesses to repair or replace disaster-damaged property owned by the business, including real estate, inventories, supplies, machinery, and equipment. Businesses of any size are eligible. Private, non-profit organizations such as charities, churches, private universities, etc., are also eligible.

 

  • Economic Injury Disaster Loans – Working capital loans to help small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture, and most private, non-profit organizations of all sizes meet their ordinary and necessary financial obligations that cannot be met as a direct result of the disaster. These loans are intended to assist through the disaster recovery period.

 

  • Home Disaster Loans – Loans to homeowners or renters to repair or replace disaster-damaged real estate, land improvements such as septic tanks or wells and personal property, including automobiles.

 

In addition to Northampton County businesses/residents, impacted businesses and residents in neighboring counties may also be eligible for assistance. Those counties include Bucks, Carbon, Lehigh, and Monroe counties, and Warren County, NJ.
