Hungry Pennsylvanians are crossing the border to eat there, and the BBQ is setting sales records. Owner Mike Morgan, however, feels bad for the restaurants and servers on Pennsylvania, most of which have now been closed for three months. Some will never re-open.
"We're making a killing, and we're grateful for it," Morgan told ErieNews. "I wish they could too. People are ready to get out of their houses."
One of his campaign ads shows his agenda:
Jobs? - minus two million
Education? - all schools closed, even colleges
Infrastructure? - failed to persuade state legislature.
Reform? - RTKL suspended, refusal to reveal waiver process until records subpoenaed, virtual news conferences in which questions are screened.
He's a lousy Governor, but attempts to impeach him are ill-considered.

PA's stats sure are looking better than those of several other states. Even with what I presume to be increased testing, the new case rate continues to decline.
Pa. could have handled this pandemic with testing and tracing, social distancing, hand-washing, a ban on large gatherings, school closings and masks. There was no need for a business shutdown, which was poorly considered. In addition, Wolf abandoned our LTCFs, and even suspended inspections there.
More political nonsense - the restaurant owner is showing his stripes. What is not nonsense is our health. No one is complaining in my area of the common sense precautions that are being taken. Governor Wolf took action, and he modified the phasing criteria - and you criticize him. Compare to our president, who never admits a flaw and now randomly proposes to "move on" to Infrastructure Week, as if the coronavirus has simply evaporated and these natty little race and police brutality issues were solved by an executive order. Wolf doesn't roll out shiny mirrored balls to divert our attention like the president.

Whoa - that is what South Korea did, and look how much better they made out. This criticism should be directed straight to the president, not Wolf. Experts agreed that testing and tracing had to be promoted and pursued at the federal level.

The only people "not complaining" are probably older retirees, and people who are in risk groups, with pensions, govt workers and teachers who are getting paid and not working. Other than that you have plenty of people complaining - WOLF AND LEVINE ARE JUST IGNORING THEM.
The COMPLAINERS - AKA COWARDS per Wolf
- business owners
- people who are still waiting for some kind of unemployment via the inept PA systems
- people who cannot collect for some reason
- people who would like to see graduations, and celebratory events
- people that realize that "green" is still very restrictive
- people who feel that qualified experts in their field (St Lukes/LVHN) make more sense in their approach to opening than an unqualified pediatric physician
- people who would like to get on with their lives and figure, as adults, they can manage to make decisions for themselves.
- people who watched the hypocrite Wolf walk shoulder to shoulder in the BLM march so he could get his photo op, and then his press secretary claimed "he made a mistake" in doing so. After said photo op.
The only good that can come out of this farce is that PA goes RED in November..... and you can thank Wolf and Levine for that.
10:11, everywhere I go it's the same thing, Wolf has been ridiculous with his overreach! Not sure where "your area" is, but I have talked to various people throughout the valley of varying political stripes, and the overwhelming consensus I get is that Wolf overeached. The second consensus I get is confusion at what you can and can't do or where you can and can't go.

Open for what though? People who have continued to receive steady paychecks are not going out and spending because other people are putting their lives and the lives of their family and friends in jeopardy to go to the bar or large indoor parties, etc.
personally, I've been fortunate enough to have experienced an increase in my pay during this time. But I only go to work, the store, and I'm slowly adding a few other places into the mix. I have a birthday coming up and I might go out for an outdoor drink with a few friends, but I would not feel comfortable doing so if our numbers look like Arizona's or Florida's and I certainly won't be dining or drinking indoors anytime soon.

Because no one can just be worried about the health of themselves and others, right? I reject the notion that the elderly should just be eternally quarantined so that the "younger people" can do whatever they want.
From Reuters: "Arizona, Florida, Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas all reported record increases in new cases on Tuesday after recording all-time highs last week. Nevada also reported its highest single-day tally of new cases on Tuesday, up from a previous high on May 23. Hospitalizations are also rising or at record highs."
The last sentence is the most important, for those who think numbers are rising only because we are testing. Personally, I am happy to stay at home, with overgrown hair and feeling safe.

But why are they ill-considered?
I used to believe the same thing since I know Fetterman is an idiot and can do more damage in the Governor's office on a multitude of other issues.
Unfortunately, he will be running for Governor in a few years and will act like he had nothing to do with the current shutdowns. Similarly, our state Attorney General (who is usually quite the grandstander since he's also eying the Governor's position) has been acting like he's a bystander on the issue of the shut down.
So I've re-thought my position and I will support anything that holds Wolf and the elected democrats enabling him accountable for their actions during the shut down.
We both know that in the next Governor's election the media won't want to embarrass democrat candidates by putting them on the spot and asking them tough questions. Instead, we'll get fluff pieces about what type of vehicle they drive and how much they care.
Does that sound a little familiar?
And the sheeple who don't know any better will buy it and vote for those idiots.

They wouldn't be quarantined, they'd be able to make decisions about how they want to live their lives.
Like all Americans should be free to do.
And they could decide where they want to go, whether to wear a mask, if they want to congregate in large groups, etc.
That's called living life, which is not what they - or anybody else - is able to do right now.

Sorry Charlie, but the worst results nationally have been in the states run by Democrats.
Wolf's decision to enter into a political agreement with other Northeast Democrat Governors has been particularly costly in many ways, and has caused thousands of lives as well as economic and social turmoil in Pennsylvania.
He, and the elected democrats in the Legislature who have enabled him, need to be held accountable.
"The PA Supreme Court announced it will decide the case filed by Senate Republicans, seeking to enforce a resolution that both chambers passed last week to end the state of disaster emergency imposed by the Democratic governor in March." Hopefully the Supreme Court extends the middle finger to the Republicans on this. They appear to be in election mode, big time.

But the question is whether hospitals can't handle the number of patients. That was the purpose of the lockdown, before Wolf decided to enter into a political alliance with other Democrat governors, to horrendous results.
And once the lockdown is lifted, you can certainly choose to stay at home for as long as you want.

We're not in a situation worthy of emergency. The reality is that the Legislature has been in session throughout the lockdown.
There is no reason that any of the decisions that Wolf has unilaterally made couldn't have been run through the Legislature.
Wolf has abused his power, and hopefully the Supreme Court will be joining the vast majority in the state who are giving WOLF the middle finger.
I can only hope that the democrat-dominated PA Supreme Court sides with Wolf, so THEY can be swept out of office with Wolf democrat enablers in the Legislature.

All along, I have blamed both.
Schools- we are in trouble here. The EASD voted during pandemic to spend 15 million dollars on a foot ball field that will get maybe 18 hours a year. Now higher education is about make making the right decision. Knowing, perceptive, see they can’t observe rule of diminishing return. It appears to me , that some people who don’t Evan pay taxes here in the district want their names on brass placket on a new stadium at our expense. It all about being an “assistant coach” or the water bucket guy or —Horse Crap . We need to stop them go to meetings. Peterjcochran
Ya know, there's something to be said for reevaluating your opinion when confronted with new information. Learn from the states that opened up way too soon!
Do you really think that many of the people who post here are going to do any of that? There had to be a shock to the system to at least slow this thing down. Now if only the naysayers here would use precautions, things could actually open up...but they won't and THEY will be the reason for the next wave and potential lockdown.

Stop comparing us to South Korea!It is a closed state with a culture that prizes conformity at the expense of privacy and individual liberty. We are a republic that values state's rights and responsibilities. Many of our states are larger than other countries. A "one size fits all" model is inappropriate in our vast country. The federal government should support state's health emergencies, which it has. Trump has given states whatever they have asked for. Wolf has created a nanny state where he can pick winners and losers. And our area is a loser.
Trump made the right call by allowing each State to determine how to manage all this. Direct blame where it most belongs. That would be Wolf and his Administration. Our State Government has helped to create the loss of many small business operators.
