Tarsi Falls Short in Bid to Succeed Hahn

Wilson Middle School Principal Tony Tarsi has fallen short in his bid to succeed retiring State Rep. Marcia Hahn in Pennsylvania's 138th Legislative District. With all but provisional ballots counted, he has lost the GOP nomination to Ann Flood, founder and CEO of the Lauren’s Hope Foundation.

Flood received 4,203 votes to Tarsi's 3,448. Flood beat Tarsi with both mail-ins (1,847 to 1,185) and in-person (2,356 to 2,263) votes, but clearly did a better job of running the mail-in campaign.

Tarsi appeared on Bobby Gunther Walsh's radio show and was also promoted by NorCo GOP Chair as a "good conservative."

Flood will face NorCo Council member Tara Zrinski in the general election. Zriski was unopposed in the Democratic primary.

So who do you think would have been a stronger candidate against Zrinski?

Zrinski's a whack-job who shouldn't even be on county council. Stopping her is imperative.

I hope there is a quick unification behind Flood by Republicans, no matter who they voted for yesterday.

I think either Tarsi or Flood will beat Zrinski, but Flood will do so more convincingly. She will attract Dems like Marcia did.

Agreed Bernie, and boy we got lucky. Zrinski is batshit crazy.

Marcia didn't attract Dems as there's never been a democratic candidate viable since gerrymandering occurred?

I will not vote for a candidate who supports Trump.

Ms. Zirinski will win in November. She is a single mother juggling life's problems. She is a skilled leader and has both the educational background and political skill to make things happen in Harrisburg.
She cares about all people.

Ms. Zirinski is a single mother who perjured herself in court. Unless Bernie has misled us. Or unless the court record has disappeared. Things can happen. Then again, maybe she will fit in.

I copied the court record.

When she was in the middle of a custody dispute with her ex, she and her then boyfriend (I assume he was a white male) went on a mini-vacation to New England, and brought her two boys with her. She put them in a separate room so she could have some alone time with her beau. But she lied to the court, telling the judge that the rooms were really a suite with connecting doors.

When Judge Emil Giordano discovered her lie, he sanctioned her $2,750 for her "perjury." (See NorCo Docket 2007-9468, Court Order dated 12/16/08, Paragraph 14)

On her Facebook page (I am currently blocked, lol) she said "white males can get away with anything, shrouded by privileged [sic] and protected by the entourage of patriarchy, the ultimate fraternity."

So I hope she rejects their votes to be consistent.

She was at her worst when she fearmongered made a number of misleading and statements and outright lies concerning the way Bethlehem Tp Comm'rs handled the PennEast pipeline. The Commissioners themselves had to refute her.

She is a disgrace to any public office.

I'm a registered D but I do cross party lines to vote for a better candidate. Zrinski lost my vote for any public office when she appeared on TV telling a reporter she was working 3 jobs and had no health insurance. Exposed on your blog by a reader who caught her brief appearance, she back peddled on her Facebook page saying she considered NorCo Council a job and at one time had no insurance. She's a BS artist.

If there was ever an election that would favor a Dem here, its this November, but this district is so heavily tilted Republican that even a heavy D turnout, a depressed R turnout along with a near sweep of Independent votes and maybe a high end 15% defection rate among R's probably still wouldn't be enough.

As soon as I heard Lee Snover was running that campaign, I knew it was doomed. She was his largest donor including in kind donations.

Think Lee would learn by now, Far right wing politics do not play well in this area. According to the original "Trumper" there is no place in this party for me, a moderate Republican. And while I am at it, doesn't she realize how ridiculous she sounds on the radio telling everyone she is a "Trumper". Sounds like a 12 year old boy, not the head of the County party.

Marcia Hahn's endorsement is what made the difference in the race. If no endorsement, I think Tarsi wins. If Hahn endorses Tarsi, he would have beat Flood easily. Considering the money difference and that Tarsi raised just over $5800 compared to over $22000 for Flood ($5000 from Hahn and $5000 from Scavello), I thought Tarsi did a great job to be competitive with this race.

I agree with Bernie that the Republican candidate would win the race. I do think that Zrinski has a slight chance, as she may have the funds to be competitive (something Hahn never had to face), and Flood had to use funds in the primary. On the other hand, Flood is now more known as a result of the primary. The Flood/Zrinski race has the feelings of being a very negative race -- not sure who benefits with that.

As you may have noticed, a Wolf apologist has forced me to moderate. He spams my blog when I don't leaving hge gaps at the end, making it impossible for others to participate. Last night, I saw him at Council and turned off moderation. No spam. After the meeting, I saw him huddle with Zrinski after the meeting. About an hour later, the spam began again. Many have tried to silence me over the years. All have failed.

I can guarantee I will expose Zrinski and all her flaws. She should not be in any public office and once voters learn what she truly is, they will agree.

In reality It’s a hereditary office. Dally to his secretary Hahn to her secretary Flood.

Please, who on county council works harder than Tara Zirinski? She brings a sense of purpose to the office. She is engaged and well informed. A great asset to government.

4:16, Flood was not Hahn's secretary.

"Please, who on county council works harder than Tara Zirinski? She brings a sense of purpose to the office. She is engaged and well informed. A great asset to government."

Lori Vargo-Heffner, Ron Heckman, John Cusick, Kevin Lott, Bill McGee each work harder. Have not seen enough of Giovanni or Meyers to assess their ability to work.

Zrinski interrupts, cackles during meetings, refuses to use her mike in spite of constant reminders and floods Council with resolutions having nothing to do with county government. Her biggest problem is that she lies. The biggest example of her dishonesty was when she misrepresented what was going on with the PennEast pipeline in Bethlehem Tp, and engaged in quite a bit of fear-mongering based on lies.

She is a hypocrite who will talk about things like a $15 minimum wage, but then approves contracts in which workers are paid under that amount. She is a phony.

As we get closer to the election, I intend to peel back all the layers of this smelly onion. She'll never be elected to State Rp. and should not be on Council.
