ATTENTION ALL NAZARETH RESIDENTS! A SNOW EMERGENCY will be called tonight starting at 8pm until 8pm Thursday. The poor conditions of the roads from last nights ice storm and the anticipated snow fall of 3-6 inches has prompted this EMERGENCY. Snow plows need to clear the primary streets. I encourage everyone living on a snow emergency route or not to remove your vehicles as soon as possible (even today) and let our Public Works department clear what they can early and often. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.

Mayor Strye
I suspect this will be widespread.
Update from 11:37 am story: Lower Nazareth Tp Manager Timm Tenges advises he "will be declaring a snow emergency today beginning at 3 PM and ending at 5 PM Thursday." I strongly suggest you look at WFMZ-TV69's Stormcenter to see if there is a snow emergency in your mujnicipality. Hanover Tp is already in emergency mode and will stay that way until 11 am Friday.

Oh please. Whats another snow storm. Buckle down people.
Finally a snow emergency. UNT had one yesterday and Nazareth didnt. Strye is slacking. Thought he said if it snows I will call a snow emergency? Great mayor you guys have there.
Nazareth's criteria for a snow emergency is when the forecast is for 3 or more inches of snow. Strye has been very consistent with that and we are glad he does call snow emergencies and cares about the citizens. Who cares what UNT does. Besides it was freezing rain and sleet yesterday that accumulated ,not snow.
They are a pain in the ass, but very necessary. I have to commend Nazareth's road crew for working on some of the residential streets in advance of the emergency.
Isn't it a bit early?

When should they call it? Once there is 4 inches on the ground and the trucks have already started plowing. You need to get ahead of these things to make everything as seemless as possible.

I agree. I've taken precautions. My servants have moved my fleet of Bentleys from Main Street so that road crews can do their job. Later this evening, I'll have them carry me around the circle.
Somewhere along the line we lost track of what the word emergency means.
No we haven't. Snow kills. It also endangers people. I see no reason why we can't make some minimal effort to help our road crews by moving our 40' long SUVs before a storm.
Bernardo, don't you have "people" that deal on your behalf with such mundane things as snow emergencies?
I think I already said that. Now go take your drug cocktail.
Chicken Little Syndrome
LOL.
Wow... Snow Emergency's for routine winter snow falls. Amazing how some of these places call snow emergencies while others only do when a blizzard/historic snowfall is coming.
You obviously missed a lot of school. You have a literacy emergency.
Extreme overreaction
