A-town's Sixth Street Shelter To Open Family Resource Center

Allentown's Sixth Street Shelter, in partnership with EZ-Micro Solutions, will open a new Family Resource Center, this Wednesday at 3:30 PM, according to a statement released by CACLV.

This addition to the shelter, located at 213 N 6th Street, will give residents access to six new computers and a widescreen TV. Access to computers and the Internet is becoming indispensable to successful job searches and educational pursuits.

The center will also offer resident child care.

The Sixth Street Shelter, a program of the Community Action Committee of the Lehigh Valley, provides the opportunity and direction for all people to become self-sufficient, productive members of the community. Their guiding principle is to help families set and reach their goals through intensive and effective case management, in-house programming, and referrals to appropriate services.

This Wednesday's opening ceremony will star Mayor Edwin Pawlowski and Senator Pat Browne, as well as light refreshments. All are welcome. For more information, please contact the Sixth Street Shelter at 610-435-1490.

Bernie
Is that the building? Also isn't EZ Micro owned by someone on city council? Not sure. Could be wrong.

What job pursuits does one find on a widescreen TV? And isn't job pursuit CareerLink's forte?
