I'm a bit shocked that a person who dropped an underage runaway at a tent city, where he was sexually propositioned, would be the top vote getter. But that's me.

It’s a tragedy that the people in Allentown voted that clown back in. You get what you vote for, Allentown is circling the drain.
I am shocked too. I was hoping she would get bumped. Thank god her understudies did not get elected. This suggests Allentown is ok with an ultra left voice on council, but only one.
Before all the haters start saying all kinds of mean things about Allentown, keep in mind that Gerlach has won simply by spending the most time going door to door and telling voters what they want to hear. Her winning has nothing to do with her real agenda or with Allentown circling the drain. Simply put; she has the time and the motivation to campaign full time and she won through hard work. To me, keeping Napoli and Affa on City Council is a huge win for Allentown.

Allentown deserves EVERYTHING they get. Fed Ed and cronies, and this democratic miscreants. Unreal. No wonder the ASD has admins leaving like retirees for a free dinner.

I'll disagree that pandering and handouts win races in Allentown and that Allentown needs an enema. Despite Gerlach winning, Affa and Napoli also won on a platform of support for law enforcement and quality of life issues, not pandering and handouts. I'm somewhat more optimistic about Allentown post-election than I've been in couple of years. There is now a solid base of moderate Democrats on City Council who are strongly in support of law enforcement and there are some positive things happening in Allentown. I have no idea what Matt Tuerk really does, but at least he is harming the City like Rpy Afflerbach and Fed Ed did.
As a citizen of A-town who realizes that I'm living in a city which is becoming every year a growing majority of people who think "laws are for other people": Why wouldn't they vote for Ce CE, the candidate that says "F*ck the Police!"?
Really, and how did you find out what Napoli or Affa’s “platform” was? Or Gerlach’s?
Gerlach was the top vote getter among all candidates. That’s hardly a repudiation of her beliefs.
The reality is that this election was run like any other council election, with candidates running on their personal popularity and not on any particular issue.
A competent democrat party in the city would have informed the voters of where the candidates stood and had a recommended slate of candidates for residents to vote for. Or candidates could have run together as a slate to put forth their agenda. Instead, they all ran for themselves and nobody else.
Maybe I should be happy that two of the three “better” (and that’s not saying much) candidates won, but that’s not because of any effort they made.
Allentown voters once again gave an incompetent idiot the most votes in an election, and remains ripe for it to happen again. God forbid the city ever gets an incompetent idiot with minimal organizational or fundraising skills again as that person could sweep their faction into power as easily as Pawlowski did.
Anonymous 12:42. I give the Allentown voters a pass on keeping Gerlach on City Council as they soundly rejected her run for Mayor. I'm pleased with the outcome as it increases the likelihood that Gerlach will be acting mostly alone on the sidelines and I'm feeling optimistic that the city has better days ahead.
Personally I think Gerlach is a good example to our youth. No matter how bad of a felony you commit, you still can be an elected official. Dream big, kids!
I am an Allentown resident, and agree with Gerlach winning those votes! I voted for her!
While I wouldn’t vote for her for Mayor, cause she doesn’t have that level skill!
There are many politicians that may be good at a council job, but not running such a diverse city’s,
But in talking to her in length, she has a good understanding of what Allentown residents need! Allentown’s needs are way different than Bethlehem and Easton’s needs! As a Caucasian, I am in the minority! But We need more reasonably priced housing, as all areas in the Lehigh Valley need! Plus we need more Police, with more crime! Police need more help and they are getting some help from Social Workers in some minor areas! This is a changing society, and we need to adapt in a reasonable way!
If she only spent that amount of energy in protecting the child from be accosted in a homeless encampment. She should have known better. Disgusting.

Think that through.
Allentown already has one of the largest percentages of residents living at or below the poverty line. That puts an enormous strain on the city in terms of services it needs to survive. It is not sustainable.
More “affordable housing” means more low income people. The city needs less. City Hall should be looking at programs to reduce housing density and make the city more attractive to self-sufficient working families and the wealthy.
Gerlach’s low IQ “solutions” are more of the same programs that have proven to be failures over the last 50 years.

"low IQ" implies that one has some sort of brain activity. It's not applicable in C(riminal) C(lueless) Gerlach's case; and, apparently, nor the voters in Allentown.
Please tell me you didn’t just say “we need more police” so you voted for CeCe? When talking with her did she mention she voted against hiring police every time, even when it was paid for through grants and required no city money, or did she skip that part?
