Houck Snags Coveted Police Endorsements

In his re-election campaign, former Philly cop Terry Houck has picked up some heavy duty endorsements from four police associations. Bethlehem FOP Lodge 20 (Bethlehem police) Easton FOP (Easton police), PSTA No. 40 (Northampton County Pa. State Police) and PSTA (statewide Pa, State Troopers) have all come out in support of the incumbent District Attorney.

Bethlehem's FOP states Terry has "the highest moral and ethical character." Easton's FOP praises him for "following the truth no matter where it may lead. " NorCo's State Trooper FOP is "confident Terry "will continue to work to ensure the safety and justice of those who live and work in Northampton County." The statewide association of Pa. State Troopers, which includes 9,000 active and retired troopers, unanimously endorsed Houck.

Houck even picked up a three-star endorsement from Lehigh Valley for All (who agree with us), compared to just one-star for challenger Steve Baratta.

On Saturday night, Houck was at the Lehigh Valley Labor Council's annual awards dinner, where he was listed as a gold sponsor. If you're a Democrat seeking election, it would be wise ti be seen there. Steve Baratta missed it.

It's all over. Baratta should hand in his jock. His lies and distortions are not believable and he is starting to look like a fool spewing out all these lies and distortions. What a shame. He let Morganelli talk him into running for D.A. and now Baratta is hanging out there all by himself while Morganelli hides behind the cloak of the courts. Steve used to be a really nice guy. Too bad he listened to Morganelli.

I got a mailer with a cop in uniform on it where Terry looks like he is shooting a gun with his hand. I thought cops couldn’t do that beCause of civil service laws. curious because that Easton cop could be at jeopardy because of it.

Like tRUMP, baratta just can't help himself. He opens his mouth and inserts his foot.

True, Morganelli is hiding behind the cloak of the courts, that is what a sneak does, hides. However, his dark has been brought to light. Through this, Barrata has shown himself the clown that he is for all to see, but Morganelli does not come out of this unscathed. So many county residents have lost an enormous amount of respect for him. More importantly…trust!

An endorsement from the police unions usually means I'm voting the other way.

I'll disagree with you. I really dislike the tenor of his campaign. It is one thing to be negative, but Baratta has become personal as well. He should never have complained to the Disciplinary Board. Also, he has continued attacks after they've been disproved. He has brought up specific criminal cases without discussing them first with the affected families. He has disparaged criminal defendants who are still presumed innocent. He has made a litany of mistakes.

I'm really shocked that he was a no-show at the LV Labor Council annual dinner. He should have been there if he wants the Dem nod.

Having said that, I believe him to be a very good and honorable man who will come to see his mistakes and acknowledge them. He can't do it now, but I think he will. He is passionate and let his passions sweep him. After being a judge for 25 years and having to keep things to himself, he kinda' exploded.

You have a lawyer fetish. You will tear non-lawyers' to unconditional shreds with your opinions. When it is a lawyer you always make it conditional. Remember, they don't want you in the club anymore.

5:43, Really? Ask John Lushis if I have a lawyer fetish. I shredded him pretty well. I've been highly critical of two Lower Saucon Council members who happen to be lawyers. I am critical of an UMBT Super who is a lawyer. And I've been harshly critical of Baratta at times. I am pretty much an equal opportunity offender. If I criticize nonlawyers more, it is because there are more of them.

I’m going to go with Houk, but I am really not thrilled with either of them. I’m told by people who know Baratta that he is a good guy and they’re a little bit shocked at the negative tone of his campaign. Houk is going to get write in votes from republicans and that could put him over the top. We’ll see.
