Geissinger: Republicans Not Promoting Houck Write-in

At yesterday's news conference concerning Kerry Myers' decision to turn into a Republican so he could get them to write him, county party chair Glenn Geissinger specifically denied that the Republican party is backing Democratic DA Terry Houck.

Houck has been the subject of attacks for "siding with the Republican Party."  Challenger Steve Baratta slams Houck's "Republican agenda," which essentially consists of prosecuting criminals. I thought Democratic DAs did that, too.

Houck is seeking Republican votes because he'd like to end the race in May. I'm told Democratic County Council candidate Ken Kraft is also waging a write-in campaign among Republicans. Don't tell Baratta.

WOWEEEE.....so maybe the election code should be changed so Judges can't run as a Democrat and a Republican, better known as cross-filing. Is he aware that his team supports letting independents vote for D's and R's proven by legislation supported by Boscola who endorsed Baratta. His biggest backer, John "the shyster" Morganelli changed his registration and is no longer a Democrat. After the thousands of dollars donated to Morganelli by his Democratic friends, he extended his middle finger to his loyalists who made him what he is today and said "Thank you sucker". This is what you will get when you elect Baratta. You get the whole scumbag team.

Once again, Baratta and his mailers are full of lies. Same with all of Ray Lahoud’s FB posts. What scum. And as a side note, I’m sure voting Republicans (not the Republican Committee) would rather Houck than a Tom Carroll or similar candidate.

As an R, my ballot is already received. On it was my write in vote for Houck, hopefully he will prevail

The entire process needs to be changed. NO cross filing. You must declare 6 months prior to an election. Along with the filing there should be a mandatory resume and financial statement. And misrepresentations, omissions, or lies disqualify you for that election and the next three for any office in the state. And if it is found after you are elected that you provided misrepresentations, made omissions, or lied during your mandatory disclosure you are immediately removed from the office you hold go to jail for the rest of the term and the equivalent time of the next term. the person committing those infractions is also ban for life of being in any appointed or elected government position. Nor can they be employed by, work for advise for, or any way be associated with any organization or company which does work for with and government entity or company doing business with the government in any way above a tier 3 level. If any company is found having such individual in association with their corporation they are immediately ban from doing business with the government or any of their subcontractors ever. And yes the person finding those issues is paid a bounty.

I have grown to really like Baratta. He is the epitome of a sleazy politician. He is espousing abortion rights (FB post), which doesn’t seem relevant to this race, but a scare tactic. He continually misrepresents the truth and is just a major PITA! Why is Lahoud in his camp, btw? The Sikh non-issue?

I’m 8:21 pm — DISLIKE Baratta. I once liked him, but his true colors have been displayed for all.

The county Republican Party has made the decision as a body not to support Houck as a write in.

This should send a clear message to all Northampton County Republicans.

Houck is not a Republican, he is not our candidate and we will let the Dems fight it out without taking sides.
