Yesterday, Allentown blogger Michael Molovinsky implied that Nat Hyman is running for Allentown Mayor this year, and as an Independent. He reached this conclusion on the basis of a phone poll that someone received. He never talked to Hyman. I did. He's not running this year. Hyman conducted a poll, but it was earlier this year. He might run down the road, but not now.
I have no desire to get into it with Molovinsky. I just want to share what Hyman himself told me, for the 19,543rd time. He's not running.

The stupid voters of Allentown missed a huge opportunity when they did not elect Hyman. Probably the smartest person I have seen run for office in Allentown since I've lived in the valley and that's 30 years. So instead they have a dumb school administrator who raised their taxes 27%. Serves them right.
Bob Lovett was an opportunity missed.

For Allentown residents who are learning the current dealings regarding Allentown Hospital's property, Mr. Hyman is the right man to run Allentown.
As a city resident, I would immediately volunteer for that campaign. Allentown has a lot of potential with smart, competent and experienced leadership. If Hyman could pull it off and Browne, Schlossberg & Schweyer would come up with a unique NIZ style solution to funding at ASD or even a complete overhaul of public education in Allentown, I could see the City making a real comeback.
Anon. 7:45, I bet Ray O'Connell is twice as smart as you, he's just inexperienced and his public education background lacks the skills needed to manage a City of 110,000 residents. I'll agree with you about most of the Allentown voters being stupid, though.

Hyman would turn this city around by making tough decisions to cut expenses and find other sources of income instead of increasing taxes like O'Connell. He would run it like a business which is exactly what we need.
O'Connell will run Allentown into the ground over the years he contributed to the decline of the schools he was an administrator who spent a lot of money over the years he will say it's not true but it is true he is an egotist and a democratic liberal

Nat Hyman is too good for Allentown. That's Allentown's pitiful situation. His honesty makes the political class nervous.
It's hilarious to watch people blame democrats when Browne and Dent were the Senators representing Allentown for the last 21 years.
The city's problems are bipartisan, as is the corruption. It's a giant club, and you ain't in it.
Hyman would be mayor right now if he ran as a Democrat. Running as a Repub is the kiss of death in any sensible, urban area.

When are we going to see background checks and drug testing for those who run for office, start filling the offices with persons who actually have never had a police record or prison record of any kind instead of giving us leaders that are nothing but a bunch of hypocrites.
