That's a great photo, and a great show of unity with France against ISIS.

I wish our President showed the same resolve to eliminate our enemies, and empathy for those affected by terrorism.

His remarks since the Paris attacks have been embarrassing at best.

Obama has been embarrassment since Day One.

6:20 AM - Get your head out of your ass. Obama has been bombing ISIS for over a year.

He was voted in overwhelmingly to end our involvement in Iraq. He followed through with Bush's withdrawal plan. Now you want to go back in? I suppose you will volunteer your own tax increase to pay for this new war?

9:10 -

ISIS is Obama's creation.

Whether you like it or not, he was handed victory in Iraq when he came into office. He subsequently squandered that by leaving Iraq prematurely, and ISIS filled the vacuum. Now we're paying the price.

As far as the meager amount of bombing runs Obama's been authorizing, any competent military person will tell you it is far too little to be effective. A quick look at the growing area that ISIS is able to control is all the proof you need.

The day before the Paris attack, Obama was quoted as saying that ISIS was "contained". Obviously not.

Obama is weak, he's foolish, and he's more worried about his "legacy" than actually solving the problem.

I don't want to get caught up in the finger pointing game right now. This is an opportunity for people to come together, not just people of different nations, but the partisans who can't seem to see beyond their own noses, and be united in action against ISIS.

Saw this video on Saturday while watching college football. Outstanding !

While I appreciate the symbolism, the problem is that carrying a French flag isn't taking action. In the grand scheme of things, it's relatively meaningless in terms of actually solving the problem.

Instead of responding to the Paris attacks with statements of resolve that those responsible will be hunted down to the ends of the earth, our President used the attacks as an opportunity to remind us that the attacks are not representative of Islam. If it makes those wanting bipartisanship feel any better, the previous occupant of the White House did the same thing.

I think we all get that, and have known so for years. But invoking the non-lethal bogeyman of anti-Muslim discrimination is an attempt to distract from the real problem that's not being solved.

In the end, Islamophobia isn't the problem that will kill you. Militant (or radical) Islam is.

So just exactly who is paying the bill in terms of food and shelter for all these new Middle East migrants? We can't even take care of homeless American citizens already have. And yet we CAN take care of all these homeless refugees from another country?

Gotta love them Bleeding Hearts geniuses.

Not all that long ago, Americans routinely rejected the acceptance of dirty refugees coming from another continent. They were the Jews fleeing the Holocaust.

February's terror attacks in Paris have shocked the world and brought leaders together in a show of solidarity in the face of the extremism that threatens us all. Together, they stood against the face of the extremism that threatens us all. Together, their actions showed enough is enough.

But something was missing.

The world leaders came to Paris to participate in a Sunday' unity march in support of France. Over 1.5 million people participated in the march with 40 world leaders leading the way. What a sight to be seen.

But something was missing.

The crowd included French President Francois HOllande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Birtish Prime Minister David Cameron. Even Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestenian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas were able to march together to show support for the French people.

But where was the United States leadership? Ann Lafferty of the group Traditional values coalition said he Missing in action.
Asserting that President Obama despite an open schedule was absent., and the same went for Vice President Biden.

Even Attorney General Eric Holder, who was in Paris for talks in the aftermath of the attack, failed to attend this inspiring event. Instead, the United States sent a low-level French diplomat. It was a national embarrassment that did not go unnoticed.

Lafferty implied that if it were a rock concert with an opportunity to get some good campaign photos, Obama would have made the trip like he did to Berlin in 2008.

Lafferty went on to assert that for years the United States had been the leader in the global War on Terror. But said, presently the Obama Administration had done more to show its support for our enemies than our allies - siding against Israel, apologizing for American efforts to defend itself, dismantling our military, and failing to stand arm and arm with our friends when the world i was watching.

Said, Lafferty, The American people and the world deserved better - but the President has shown time and time again that he would put his own personal agenda before one that truly represents the interests and security of this nation.

The world indeed was watching and they shook their heads in disbelief. And in America , many of us were watching too, and many of us had the same feeling.
This past week, Act two occurred in this great tragedy, and President Barack Obama in Turkey for a G-20 meeting sharply defended his strategy Monday for going after ISIS amid mounting criticism that the U.S. was not doing enough to stop the terror organization that went on a killing spree in Paris last week.
Obama, for his part, justified his use of the term "contained" the previous week to describe the ISIS threat, a remark he made in an interview that aired just hours before the Paris terror attack.
In Obama's words: "When I said that we are containing their spread in Iraq and Syria, in fact they control less territory then they did last year and the more we shrink that territory, the less they can pretend that they are somehow a functioning state," . "And the more it becomes apparent that they are simply a network of killers who are brutalizing local populations that allows us to reduce the flow of foreign fighters, which then over time will lessen the numbers of terrorist who can potential carry out terrible acts like they did in Paris."

Dennis,

I was in France when this happened and was shocked. So were the French but they carefully buffered their criticism so as to not often his highness. The world wants to love Obama but by his actions and statements he makes it difficult.
John Kerry said recently(paraphrase) that the Charlie Hebno attack was "legitimate", but the attacks of last Friday weren't. Wow! What an insight into the minds of the current administration.

Bernie,

In the past people didn't want Jews to immigrate because they were antisemitic. People who are against refugees form the middle east conflict are wisely concerned that terrorists could be infiltrating the USA with those seeking shelter.
It is a very legitimate concern that the administration has failed to adequately addressed. For starters there is no way to determine who is who when it comes to refugees from Syria. There is no database to work from.
It is a primary duty of the Federal Government to provide for the public safety of the citizenry. Can one believe the immigration protocols of the administration are fulfilling this duty?

7:28, You do realize that the people fleeing Syria are also trying to avoid ISIS, correct? And that refugees already go through more rigorous background checks than any other legal immigrants? And that, because the Atlantic Ocean separates Europe from the US, that all the refugees coming here will have to go through numerous levels of security operated by the US government, and in fact, that the US government will be managing their transportation? And all but maybe one of the perpetrators in the attacks on Paris were radicalized in Europe?

I am not quite sure what you are proposing, but it sounds like you just want the refugees to go back to Syria, and sit and wait for their homes to be bombed. It may be a good time to consider that you are not worth more as a person than anyone else simply by virtue of which set of borders you live within.

Thank You Bernie, I am proud of our future military leaders. They show more common sense than many adult's.

"Whether you like it or not, he was handed victory in Iraq when he came into office."

Right, yeah mission accomplished. He inherited a pretend peace and a shitstorm that rages to this day due to the actions of your neo-con heroes.

You people are a bunch of idiots. We have been bombing and attacking ISIS for years. The Presdient is more laid back than maniac Trump in his words but his policy is strong. he has killed more terroists then any of your heroes.

I guess he should bang his shoe on a desk and drop his trousers to show a red white and blue hard on.

I hated the draft but went when nailed. I hated it when I went in and hated it when I left but I did what I had to do. Now a days with all these chicken Hawk neo-cons wanting to run the world, I wish the draft was brought back.

Instead of waving the flag and all the hero displays you would be forced to actually serve and possibly fight in the wars you want to wage. Big difference when your ass is on the line and when it is someone else's ass.

Yes I am a democrat and no I did not support Hillary or did I support Obama until McCain picked that whacko Palin as his running mate.

You are all obsessed with this President and everything you say and do comes from some weird hatred you have of him.

By the way it would be two years before any refugee would hit American soil. Also having been to Europe myself, they do not hate Obama, they wonder more about why people in this country want Trump as a President. They think it is some sort of stunt.

Get a Life!!

My opinion about Obama on foreign policy is significantly different than yours, but this is no time for the usual partisan bullshit. I think we need to come together and we need the workd to come together to present a very strong and very united front against ISIS and put them away permanently. Then we can go back to name-calling.

Refugees are already here. I ran into a family doing door to door in Allentown. They were from Syria. So, so much for it will take years for them to get here. They are here and more are coming. I will restate the concern for those too partisan to see the obvious, there is no way of knowing/determining who is who when it comes to refugees from the middle east. Look to the French, they have just learned that painful lesson. There is no Syrian data available for US emigration officials to search/research the background of those seeking refugee status here. So what are they supposed to go on?
The truth is the world has become a very ugly place, whether we want to acknowledge it or not, a population of people are determined to destroy us and our way of life. Hide your head in the sand, make excuses for their horrendous behavior, or simply pretend it will pass if that works for you but realize the slaughters are just beginning.

Bernie you have made great points. I do find the comments of Mr. Armstrong strange. If you walk in any city in America you will probably bump into Syrians. Many of which were not born here. Also if they have relatives here and/or a job, they will be treated like other immigrants. Did he quiz them on their status? Are you an immigrant, on a visa? Or a filthy refugee??

What the Hell? I think the newest craze in xenophobia is just an extension of what we have seen for years. A great deal of it started with wanting the President's birth certificate and the belief he is a Muslim that pretended to be Christian for the past forty years.

Sorry but with all the serious issues involved, some of this verbiage garbage is just ridiculous and deservers all the serious consideration it deserves.

Bernie O'Hare said...

I have no problem with a temporary halt on immigration to make sure we are doing all we can to keep out the bad guys. A blanket halt would be xenophobic, but that is not what Armstrong suggests. He is a conservative, not a know-nothing.
