Although Michael Beyer may still wage a write-in campaign for the Democratic nod in a state house race against incumbent Justin Simmons, the Supreme Court has removed him as a sanctioned candidate. In a harshly worded opinion that reverses the Commonwealth Court, the state supremes have essentially called Beyer a liar who misrepresented his occupation.
Beyer is the son of former State Rep. Karen Beyer, who was upset by upstart Simmons four years ago.
Beyer's candidacy struck me as dishonest from the start. Knowing he could never beat Simmons as a Republican, he switched teams and suddenly became a Democrat right before he started circulating. Amazingly, many Democratic die-hards flocked to this obvious turncoat, whose party affiliation USA matter of convenience, not principle.
Beyer is 30, unemployed and, according to his court testimony, never had a job. According to his court testimony, he lives in his parents' basement. He had to lie.
He spent 12 years as a full time student. He's been out of law school for a year. He hasn't taken the bar, has never had a job and doesn't have a job now. That doesn't look good when you are running for office.

I am more than willing to admit Croslis was right and I was wrong and to apologize for doubting his legal acumen. I considered this the weakest aspect of the case all along. I am more than willing to admit my error and congratulate him.
Never passed the bar? That's almost as bad as getting disbarred. Lawyers are scumbags, and the ones who get tossed out are, well bloggers.

Why would he want to be on the ballot? Why would the dems even put any money in this race? The Simmons campaign will make him look like an even bigger idiot then he already does. I see a lot of Pinocchio cartoons in his future!

You really whiffed on this one. At least you're not living in your parents' basement and don't lie about your bar status. Mike can still hoot his bong and make his socks stand stiff after a leisurely afternoon on the interwebs. Most Americans don't work and are in his same slippers.

Merrill Beyer needs to close up shop and get his family the hell out of here. Someone needs to where the pants in the family and say to Karen that enough is enough! Michael never wanted to go to law school. He'll never take the bar. Mommmy and Daddy will continue to pay his way through life. Karen doesn't want her baby to leave, because she's a lonely old crotchety woman with no friends. Michael is her "friend." I do realize that this SHOULD be over, but WON'T be over. KB will work and work to get MB on the ballot one way or another. Let's see, sleeping and partying like she did in Harrisburg isn't working so well for her today now is it? Michael needs to stand up to mommy and say NO MORE GAMES!

Bar signed half his petitions and according to her own Facebook posts "recruited him to run" and "got signatures until her fingers froze" Beyer is her special needs baby. Even if Schwartz ran the abortion clinic it would be to late to abort him

In all seriousness here....Michael or Merrill, if you read this you really need to man up and get out of this race and not try a write in. I'm no fan of Karen but her psychotic behavior is now about to bring down her family.
Michael, you do realize, that charges will be filed with the DA's office in 3 counties about you calling yourself a lawyer to get votes. That is a criminal offense in PA. You could get fined and be disbarred for life. 2 of these counties have Republican DA's.
Everything you worked for would be up in flames. And why? To run in a race where you will get maybe 42% of the vote. I can tell you as an insider, HDCC will not be coming in for you like HRCC did for your Mommy.
Take my advice, end the write in campaign, and move on. It's over. A campaign that you will lose being over is a lot better then your future as a lawyer ending before it even began.
