Dems: Be Careful What You Wish For

Michael Beyer has been tossed by the state Supremes as a Democratic candidate in Justin Simmons District. They think he has a little problem telling the truth. That was apparent to me simply because he switched parties the day before you started circulating his nomination petition. A long time Republican just suddenly became a Democrat. The reason, quite obviously, is because he could never win as a Republican.

Beyer is the son of former state rep Karen Beyer. She's been telling her old Republican and lobbyist friends in Harrisburg that Michael will switch back to Republican if he wins in November since the 131st is now a Republican leaning district.  They think they only have a shot this year to win this district because of Corbett.  Also she will be his Chief of Staff so she can direct him.

So Bar Johnston, is this what you really want?

Karen is a genius. (which I thought I would never say) Get the left wing nut jobs to work their ass off to get her son elected and then switch him back to republican. I mean really do you think a pro choice anti 2nd amendment rep could stay in office in Upper & Lower Milford, & Hanover? He wins he is in there for life.... as a CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN. Simmons taught his mom a lesson in a democrat leaning district. You don't think she learned from that? She doesn't want her son to be a one term Rep. Wow Karen played the left wing nuts like a fiddle.

The difference between Ideologies & Politicians.

Tea Party or Liberal. They project their views and ideals and invest in a politician. The politician gets elected and starts doing polls and realizes that the far right or far left view point will not get them reelected in the current climate so they switch direction because they are an incumbent and really don't need the people that got them elected anymore and don't want to lose their job.

Bar Johnston's obsession with Simmons may get her indicted....a lot of people know she forged petition handler signatures to get MB on ballot. Just wait Bar.

As a Dem this is a very glaring flaw in our party. We have good Dem candidates WHO NEED HELP BUT CAN'T GET OIT. THEN WE HAVE PEOPLE WHO GET OBSCESSED OVER A SPEICIF REPUBLICAN AND WILL SUPPORT THE DEVIL HIMSLEF TO GET THEM.

BEYEER IS JUST ANOTHER VERSION OF MULLER. some PARTY DEMOCRATS WILL SELL THEIR SOUL AND THE PARTY to beat a Republican, even if it is with another Republican.

Never really understood it but it is what it is, as they say.

3:02 nailed it.

3:02 is ridiculous. Muller's switch was a reaction to what he had experienced from the Rs in Lehigh. Beyer's switch was a matter of convenience.

3:02 was spot on in his first paragraph, Bernie, as you are in the be careful what you wish for part.

Not so Bernie. Muller was a registered Republican. When he saw the handwriting on the wall and no viable Democrat came forward, the old Cunningham hacks got him to switch.

her know if Ott was elected he, Kane and the other unemployables were gone. New corvettes don't grow on trees. His switch was a politically calculated move and that is the word of an insider, no matter how you try to make it some courageous moral choice.

Muller switched a good year before he decided to run. That's the reality.

Yes, at the urging of others who were afraid of Ott. The polling showed no Democrat that could either beat Ott(any that were interested in running) or could reach out to some Republican money for support plus the Cunningham donors as well as Pawlowski's. Look I know you like the guy and hated Ott but some things are what they are.

With information in hand Muller was approached and flipped. There are others who are political insiders over there. To this day, Muller is country club Republican through and through.

Just what PA and Harrisburg needs..... Karen Beyer back in politics! First of all, Justin just needs to hold it steady, be careful not to slip up, and he's a shoe in. Why the Beyer family would subject Michael to such a travesty is beyond me. It won't take much for Simmons' postcards and flyers to present Michael in such a negative light.... simply put.... a candidate with NO WORK EXPERIENCE AT THE AGE OF 30, NO DESIRE FOR POLITICS AT ALL, AND THE BIGGEST QUESTION.... WHO IS RUNNING HERE.... MICHEAL OR KAREN... I think we all know the answer to that one. Merrill needs to be a MAN and put a stop to this.... step up Merrill for once in your life!!!!

Anyone know if he got the required 300 write in votes?

People need to start asking why it took so long for Michael's education. An undergrad is 4 years....so... 18 plus 4 is 22. Law School is 3 yrs.... so 22 plus 3 is 25. He was 29 when he graduated. Now what did he do the other 4 yrs???? Huge question I want answered as a potential candidate running for State Rep. Let's see.... he played video games in mommy and daddy's basement and needed to be driven back and forth to his dental appointments by KB staffers WHILE the staffers were on duty. At one point the office needed to be shut down because Karen had "beat up" on all her staff and there was only one staffer left!!! True story!!!! But, MB needed to get to the dentist and I repeat... the office was shut down..... Michael has never had ANY desire for politics!!!!!!!!

It appears that Mike Beyer exceeded the required number of write-in votes to get on the ballot in the fall.
