Judicial Poll Will Close Monday Night

On my left sidebar, you'll notice a very unscientific poll for the eight judicial candidates seeking three positions next year. The race is very tight, and I'll close it tomorrow night. The poll that matters is the one that starts on Tuesday morning. Here's a tally of the 1,101 votes cast so far:

Craig Dally, 243 votes (22%)

Candy Barr Heimbach, 199 votes (18%)

Samuel Murray, 194 votes (18%)

Leonard Zito, 164 votes (15%)

Karl Longenbach, 158 votes (14%)

Michael Koury, 65 votes (6%)

James Narlesky, 42 votes (4%)

Barbara Hollenbach, 36 votes (3%)

The potential is there for split voting. Dally and Zito may split the Slate Belt. Murray and Khoury may split Easton. Hollenbach, Narlesky and Heimbach could split Bethlehem. How this all factors in when voters have 3 choices and there are 6 primary slots to fill, I have no idea.

What ever happened to the County Executive poll you did?

Anon 11:34,

You know what happened. You attempted to play games with it bc I did not set it so that you could only vote once from an IP. That oversight was corrected in this poll.

There probably is still a way to mess with this poll, but it's a little harder.

Let's face it. If these polls were reliable, Ron Paul would be president today.

I heard that some of the candidates told their supporters to reset their cable modems after every vote. In that way, each time it is reset you get a new IP address from your ISP and can vote again. Was that a way around it? Or were people just spreading that false information

You can't get a new IP from your ISP. It is hardware driven. That would fail.

That is so funney. A guy O'Hater hated won his goofy poll and that means it was rigged.

I guess you are supposed to voice your opinion unless it contradicts the great O'Hare. If you do it must be fixed.

I agree with the first commentor that split voting may clearly impact result. One benefactor of that may be Karl Longenbach who has broad support in all parts of the county including his home town of Northampton and its surrounding townships, Bethlehem and the Slate belt.
My point is much like Mine that Bird in the Kentucky Derby, Longenbach may make his way through the pack to finish in the money. One other auger of success for him is that fact that Bernie notwithstanding his complimentary comments on his temperament and intelligence has fortunately not chosen to make him his first pick which may have cost Longenbach a spot in '05 when he finished third, only 400 votes behind Beltrami.

The only judge I know I won't be voting for is the one who boasts of her endorsement by Lisa Boscola. Hollenbach I think.

Anon 6:53,

Shhhh! Last time, when I worked for Karl, I ended up losing his campaign.
