Sam Bennett: Disclaimer From Her Own Debate
Above you will see the disclaimer that Lehigh Valley Congressional candidate Siobhan "Sam" Bennett was forced to request after Friday's debate with Charlie Dent. According to her campaign manager, Josh Levin, Bennett "misspoke" concerning the status of two local banks.

i think 'misspoke' is the term used when one accidentally makes an inaccurate statement. sam bennett's actions can better be defined as a flat out lie. what an utter disgrace.
She make the statement about the failed banks more than once in the debate, so it's hard to believe that she merely misspoke.
I don't think she purposely lied about the banks, but rather just didn't know what she was talking about, even though she tried to sound like someone knowledgeable on the matter. She was unprepared for debate topic.
Just when you thought you've seen it all.
i have a lot of problems with this episode. first, the station should play no role whatsoever in misstating the historical record.
second, it is not the job of the news media to help amend a candidate's errors. think what might have happened if pres. jerry ford had had debate transcripts and video altered to eliminate his mistaken reference to poland not being part of the communist bloc.
third, it is the responsibility of every candidate for office to be 100% responsible for their statements. there are ample opportunities to "spin", but you cannot change the historical record.
shame, shame, shame on the station for participating in this farce.
