Environmentalism: "We’ve turned environmentalism into another brand of consumerism. Go buy a Tesla, you’re an environmentalist. I think being an environmentalist is being able to fix your own shit, like stopping an oil leak from going in the river, getting 500,000 miles out of your Honda Civic. The middle class has kind of been made to feel like [environmentalism is] a luxury good. That if you’re wealthy, you can have good air quality, and you can afford to breastfeed your baby instead of using formula."
American Workforce: "We have to start rebuilding the American workforce. We’re all part of the generation where the best trade schools got turned into computer programming schools. Now we’re all on waitlists to see an electrician, plumber or carpenter. Those are the jobs that can’t get offshored — that’s the long-term economic health of our country. So, support for career and technical education programs is key. Ensuring that you can use Pell Grants not just for two- and four-year colleges, but also for apprenticeship programs."

Seem to remember an ICE officer not in uniform grabbing a guy who was testifying in a criminal matter--way to build trust in coming forward and reporting crime.
As to 911 calls--the police hold no responsibility for the view that some cops go way overboard?

I love her! I can relate so completely with her statements. My brand of environmentalism? Live in a town or city, walk, bike or use transit as often as possible, reduce your amounts of solid waste generated, spurn consumerism (Yes!..keep that old car with the phenominal gas milage) pick up litter in your neighborhood. Thanks for the uplifting post....Let's hope she sticks to her guns and doesn't get sucked into party politics and the type of self-serving pandering needed to remain in and/or advance in politics.
Although I can appreciate her thoughts, I expect her to be ‘put in her place’ by our mostly corrupt Members of Congress, big special interest donors, and their complicit MSM propaganda machines. Time will tell if she can endure working in such a cesspool.
The America we think we knew is no more. Just studying the recent Durham Report, the latest evidence revealed in handling the Hunter Biden matter, and the continuing mess of election integrity that lingers across this nation shows a seriously broken system of governance. It’s well past time for average citizens to admit the truth and clean house.

It doesn't matter what she sounds like, nor does it matter what a centrist Republican sounds like. The caucuses control the voting and you're only allowed to vote your conscience if your vote is not needed.

Actually, centrist Democrats have plenty of untapped power in Harrisburg. Even though Philly is the power center of the party, super liberals like Kenyatta need the centrists from the suburbs who don't necessarily align with Philly liberals.
Last week I met with two fairly conservative PA house reps. We had a nice conversation that was based on working across the aisle to get things done. The quote of the day was, "We spend all day beating each other up and never get anything done." Who are the folks across the aisle they will approach first? the centrists. Marie will be a powerful player in Harrisburg.
